Mike Tyson has claimed on his podcast that Jamie Foxx may have suffered a stroke before being admitted to the hospital last month.
As previously reported, the 55-year-old Ray actor - whose full name is Eric Marlon Bishop - was hospitalized after suffering a "medical complication" on April 12.
The Oscar-winning star's daughter, Corinne Foxx, took to her Instagram to express gratitude to her father's fans for their thoughts and prayers. TMZ further reported that the star's medical emergency was "serious enough" that family members who were not in town rushed to be by his side.
It is believed that Django: Unchained star was filming his latest movie, Back In Action, in Atlanta, Georgia, when the mystery health scare occurred.
On May 12, Foxx's daughter took to her social media page once again to share with fans that her dad had been discharged from the hospital "weeks" earlier after speculation on his condition. She also revealed that he is recovering at a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago, per BBC.
"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," Corinne wrote, as cited by Sky News. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!"
While the Amazing Spiderman 2 star's family maintain radio silence on what caused his medical complication, former boxer Mike Tyson gave an update on his friend.
"He's not feeling well. They said a stroke. I have no idea what happened to him," the 56-year-old said on the latest episode of the Valuetainment podcast.
Foxx was set to portray Tyson in the boxing legend's forthcoming biographical TV series. The pair along with Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuqua were the executive producers for the show.
When the athlete was asked what would be happening with the series following Foxx's health struggles, he said: "Well, it was a possibility. I don't know what's going to happen now. But, you know, it's a strong possibility."
He also suggested a reason why Foxx's supporters have not been given many updates on his situation, adding: "If we don't know by now, they don't want us to know."
Following recuperation, the 'You Changed Me' singer will star in a new music-guessing game show alongside his daughter. They are also executive producers on the show.
"We are thrilled to be developing 'We Are Family' with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment," the pair wrote said in a statement. "We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year."
We Are Family is expected to premiere in 2024 and will feature the non-famous relatives of celebrities singing duets with their well-known family members.
Members of a 100-strong studio audience will try to guess the identity of the superstar that the performer is related to in the hopes of winning up to $100,000.
