Jay Leno recently showed off his surgery results following a serious car incident that saw him suffer third-degree burns.
Opening up about his post-hospital appearance during a new episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the comedian and former talk-show host made light of the situation, stating that he now has a "brand-new face."
"This is a brand new face," Jay declared to host, Grammy award-winning singer Kelly Clarkson. "It is. It's unbelievable."
He then recalled the horrific incident, stating that it was "pretty bad."
"I was working on a car and I got a face full of gasoline and it caught fire," he explained, before joking, "I had been eating a Flamin' Hot Dorito and when I bit into it, it set my face on fire."
However, he took a serious turn when talking about the injuries he sustained at the hands of the blaze.
"It was interesting. It was all third-degree burns, it was pretty bad. It was pretty bad," he said before Clarkson jumped in saying: "You can’t tell at all."
"No, you think there’d be a zipper here or something," the 72-year-old joked. "No, this is like a brand-new face.
"Only for the second time in my career am I the new face of comedy," he added.

The news of Leno's post-surgery results come just four months after the star was involved in a serious incident involving his vintage motors.
On November 12 last year, Leno was involved in an accident while working on one of his classic cars, when a fuel leak and a simultaneous spark in his 1907 White Steam Car triggered an explosion.
The comedian was taken to the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles where he was put in a hyperbaric chamber and underwent skin-graft surgery for burns on his face, chest, and hands.

At the time, doctors who treated Leno released a statement giving fans further details of the injuries he sustained at the hands of the fire, writing: "Comedian Jay Leno was released from the Grossman Burn Center today.
"After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest and hands he received during a fire at his home garage. Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday."
Shortly after, Leno was also involved in another accident that left him with several broken bones.
Speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the talk show host revealed that he was knocked off his motorcycle on January 17 in an incident that left him with a broken collarbone, two broken ribs and two cracked kneecaps.
"So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it," Leno recalled. "So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.
"But I’m OK!" he added. "I’m OK, I’m working. I’m working this weekend."

The 72-year-old explained that he wasn't as open about the second accident as he didn't want to provoke more media attention.
"You know, after getting burned up, you get that one for free. After that, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing airplanes. You just want to keep your head down," he said, laughing.
It's refreshing to see that despite his recent bad luck, Leno always remains in high spirits!
