Social media users have been left confused after Joe Biden's latest post after the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.

The President of the United States caused a stir after he took to Twitter to share an edited photo of himself with red laser lights coming from his eyes.

He had his hands folded in the image as he smiled at the camera, and an American flag pin was visible on his lapel.

Biden captioned the image: "Just like we drew it up", seemingly alluding to rumors the Super Bowl had been rigged.

It comes after conspiracy theorists suggested that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance was part of a ploy to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to victory at the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs stormed to victory against the Niners with a final score of 25-22, securing their third Super Bowl victory in five years after quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman with three seconds left to spare. Kelce also made a mark on the pitch, making nine catches for 93 yards.

Biden's followers were quick to flood his comments to voice their confusion at his post, writing: "joe what the fuck," and: "which intern tweeted this."

Others added: "This is creepy AF" and: "At first I thought this was a parody account but what the hell is this," while someone else responded: "Same. I mean it's literally saying the NFL is rigged at a minimum and that Taylor Swift is a CIA psyop (logical extension)," before adding that they were "obviously joking".

Some took to the comments to criticize the President for posting a jokey image while the war between Israel and Palestine continues to claim more lives, adding: "Uh Joe? There's a genocide happening.... maybe read the room?"

Many were simply stunned that the image was shared from the POTUS's official account, having been convinced they were being trolled by a parody account.

The conspiracy theories seemingly connecting Swift to the President had stemmed from the fact she is dating Kelce and has had so much coverage for her appearances at his games since the couple went public in September.

They suggested that the NFL was conspiring to set up a win for the Chiefs in order to give Swift a further platform to endorse Biden's campaign for re-election this year.

Despite some being convinced that there is a master plan at play - which Biden made light of with his post - Swift has yet to publicly declare her support for any presidential candidate.

Fans also noticed that the alt text - or image description - on the picture Biden had posted simply said "Dark Brandon" which stemmed from a meme dating back to October 2021.

It came after NBC sports reporter Kelly Stavast misheard the crowd - which was actually yelling obscenities about Biden - to be saying "Let's go, Brandon", while she was interviewing race winner Brandon Brown at the Talladega Superspeedway race track in Alabama.

The phrase "Let's go, Brandon" soon became code for verbal abuse aimed at Biden, in order to avoid censorship online.

The Brandon meme later took on new iterations, with images of Biden with laser beams shooting from his eyes becoming known as "Dark Brandon", which he appears to have taken and made his own with his latest post.
