Justin Timberlake has paid tribute to DJ and television personality Stephen 'tWitch' Boss in a recent tweet, saying that the late 40-year-old "brought so much joy to the room".
Boss - who often went by his stage name tWitch - was a beloved TV personality, best known for his role as a DJ on The Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres. He was also a talented choreographer, finishing second place on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008.
Friends and fans were rocked after news that Boss had died by suicide on Tuesday (December 13), leaving behind his wife of nine years Allison Holker, and three children - Weslie, 14, Maddox, six, and Zaia, three, per PEOPLE.
Holker confirmed the news to the outlet, stating: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans."

She continued: "To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children."
Timberlake, 41, took to Twitter to pay his own tribute to the late personality, writing: "It's heartbreaking to hear that someone who brought so much joy to a room, was hurting so much behind closed doors.
"I've known Twitch for over 20 years through the dance community - he always lit everything up. You just never know what someone is really going through."
"Take care of yourselves. LOVE that human in the mirror. Check on your people. Sending light to his beautiful family in this dark, confusing time. You will be missed, Sir. Rest Easy," the 'Cry Me A River' singer added in a second tweet.
The former NSYNC star joins a list of celebrities paying homage to Boss, including DeGeneres, 64, who tweeted: "I'm heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia."
Even 50-year-old Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson sent out a heartfelt message to Boss' family, writing: "Man I am so sorry to hear the heartbreaking news about Twitch. Great guy. Sending his family all the love, light, strength and mana. I've lost a lot of friends to the struggle. You never know what's happening between the ears. So sorry Boss family. Stay strong."
BBC News reported that officers at the Los Angeles Police Department had responded to an "ambulance death investigation" radio call at a motel on Ventura Boulevard on Tuesday, where Boss's body had been found.
According to the outlet, police ruled out foul play and handed the investigation over to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family, friends, colleagues, and fans of Stephen 'tWitch' Boss at this devastating time.
