The 41-year-old - whose real name is Katherine von Drachenberg - is renowned for being one of the most recognizable tattoo artists in the world.
With her entrepreneurial talents, she branched out into television - starring in the reality shows Miami Ink and LA Ink - started a music career, and even launched a well-known vegan makeup brand called KVD Beauty.
Watch Kat Von D's baptism below:On Wednesday (October 4), Drachenberg took to her Instagram page to share her religious journey with her 9.4 million followers.
The tattoo artist - who is recognized for her signature gothic style - shared a video that she captioned with a simple cross emoji.
The video showed a church ceremony attended by several of her inked friends, with Drachenberg wearing a simple white robe as she took part in the immersion baptism.
The pastor is heard saying: "Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His Divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
She was then completely submerged in water for two seconds before coming out and affectionately embracing the minister while the congregation applauded.
Drachenberg's baptism comes one year after she candidly opened up about her "spiritual battle" and her desire to change her religious beliefs and lifestyle.
Sharing a snapshot of the books on witchcraft, tarot, and the occult she was throwing out, Kat penned: "I don’t know if any of you have been going through changes in your lives right now, but in the last few years I’ve come to some pretty meaningful realizations — many of them revolving around the fact that I got a lot of things wrong in my past."
"Today, I went through my entire library and threw out books that just don’t align with who I am and who I want to be," the former make-up artist continued. "I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself what is my relationship with this content?"
"And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves."
The Mexican-born star said the post was not designed "to put anyone down if you’re into this stuff because I think we are all on our own journey," adding: "I love everyone regardless of where they might be at. But right now, it’s never been more clear to me that there is a spiritual battle taking place, and I want to surround myself and my family with love and light."
"With that being said, I want to send extra love to everyone out there and hope through some of these trying times, you are making meaningful changes in your life, too!" she concluded.
Drachenberg - who is married to Rafael Reyes and shares a son with him - has also been covering up hundreds of her tattoos, which she has found "extremely refreshing".
She wrote on social media that the "drunken" inks were "scribbled all over [her] leg" and that she got it before she became sober," sharing that the designs have now been replaced with solid, black ink because she feels it has "sleekness and simplicity".
