Khloé Kardashian has opened up about her struggle to "connect" with her son, who was born in July last year.

The 38-year-old mother-of-two has made her return to the screen in the latest season of The Kardashians, her family's reality TV show on Hulu and Disney+.

Based on the teasers in the trailer, fans are expecting to see a bubbling feud between Kim, 42, and Kourtney, 44, come to a head following Kim's collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana a little too soon after Kourtney's Dolce & Gabbana-heavy wedding. Yikes.

The sisters also make mention of the beauty standards they're setting, especially given the influence they have already had on fashion and beauty trends over the past few years.

During the first episode of the latest season, however, Khloé touches on her second child, a son named Tatum, and how her journey with surrogacy was a lot different than she expected. She has a discussion with sister Kim - whose third and fourth children, Chicago and Psalm, were born via surrogacy - as well as Kourtney's ex-partner Scott Disick.

During their chat, Kim and Khloé spoke about how different the surrogacy experience was, with Khloé saying: "A surrogate process, Kim knows, it's really hard for me." Kim nodded in agreement, adding that Khloé "had a really hard time accepting the whole process."

Kim then went on to describe how different carrying a baby yourself is as opposed to surrogacy, admitting: "I do think that there's a difference when the baby is in your belly. The baby actually feels your real heart - think about it. It touches your [organs], like, there's no one else on this planet that will feel you from the inside like that - like, your heart." She later adds: "People can connect in different ways."

Scott - who shares children Mason, Penelope, and Reign with Kourtney - then flat-out asked Khloé whether she feels "less connected" to Tatum than she did when she welcomed her daughter, True, naturally in 2018. Khloé nods and replies: "Mmhmm."

The Good American founder then revealed: "I definitely buried my head in the sand during that pregnancy. I didn't digest what was happening. So I think when I went to the hospital, I really think that was the first time that it really registered [...] It has nothing to do with the baby. It's just, you're like, 'OK, we're having a baby!' And this is my son and I'm taking him home with me."

Khloé also admitted that she felt guilty after the surrogate gave birth to Tatum, adding: "I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and I take the baby, and then I go to another room and you're sorta separated. It's such a transactional experience."

She later said in her confessional: "I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. It doesn't mean it's bad or good - it's still great, it's just very different."
