Kim Kardashian's birthday celebrations took a surprising turn over the weekend when extreme weather prevented her jet from landing in Las Vegas.
Rather than the lavish dinner and private Usher concert she had planned, the reality star was forced to celebrate her 42nd birthday in a decidedly more low-key location - at fast food joint In-N-Out.
The beauty mogul documented her dramatic birthday night out on her Instagram story. Things started out well, with Kim and a crew of family and friends boarding 25-year-old sister Kylie Jenner's private jet.
As the group partied on the plane, it looked like they'd be landing in Las Vegas in no time at all, with Kim letting her followers know that a luxury private meal at Carbone and a special performance by Usher were waiting for them in the Nevada desert.
However, no sooner had they taken off than the aircraft was forced to turn around and return to Los Angeles due to high winds in Vegas making it impossible for them to land. The Weather Network reported winds at nearly 30mph on the evening.
Taking to Instagram, birthday girl Kim shared the bad news. "The plane couldn't land due to the wind so it looks like our Carbone party and Usher concert isn't happening and we are heading back home," she told fans.
However, the star - who had glammed up for the occasion in a glittery bra, stiletto boots, and a crystal crucifix choker - wouldn't let the bad weather completely ruin her special day.
In an attempt to make the best out of a bad situation, she and her birthday gang headed to the fast food joint In-N-Out for a speedy burger.
Despite already being decidedly overdressed for the eatery, Kim added a final accessory - a white feather boa - explaining: "Had to take a boa to cover up."
She and her crew then continued the night in a party bus, where they downed jello shots and polished off their burgers. "The jello shots continue on the party bus to nowhere," Kim told her fans, alongside a selfie of herself knocking one back.
