Kourtney Kardashian has been applauded for sharing "empowering" baby bump snaps after emergency fetal surgery.

Last week, the 44-year-old reality TV star shared a tear-jerking Instagram post where she revealed that she underwent "urgent fetal surgery" to save her unborn child's life.

In the black-and-white social media post, Kardashian praised her "incredible doctors" for their expert intervention in saving her baby's life and expressed gratitude to her husband Travis Barker, the Blink-182 drummer, for leaving his tour to be by her side.

The soon-to-be mother-of-four also acknowledged her own mom for her support during the medical scare, writing: "And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this."

Kardashian shared that undergoing the medical procedure was a far cry from her previous pregnancies, in which she described them as "really easy".

This frightening ordeal took a toll on her emotions as she admitted: "I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear."

However, the experience also brought her a newfound understanding and respect for mothers who have faced similar challenges during pregnancy.

She concluded her heartfelt Instagram caption by recognizing her ability to leave the hospital with her unborn baby boy still safe in her womb as "the truest blessing," adding "Praise be to God."

On Sunday (September 10), the POOSH founder took to her Instagram page to share a series of pictures of her baby bump for the first time since undergoing emergency surgery.

The brunette beauty looked incredible in her new snaps, in which she cradled her bump while donning a black bra with a sheer lace top and matching gloves. She also added a black leather jacket and patent leather pants as she stared at the camera.

It didn’t take long for many of Kardashian's 224 million Instagram followers to flood the comment section of her post, which was captioned: "Pregnancy is so empowering."

One fan said: "I'm empowered by Kourtney," followed by a black heart, and they also added: "Kourtney is empowering."

Another commented: "100% agree. Pregnancy is amazing. I have never felt so feminine, so empowered and so ALIVE," while a fourth shared: "You are powerful and this baby will make you even stronger and more powerful."

This will be Kardashian's fourth child as she has three children with her ex-partner Scott Disick, two of whom are boys - Mason, 13, and Reign, eight - and one daughter named Penelope, 11, meaning the new baby will be her third son.

Meanwhile, Barker has one son - 19-year-old Landon - with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, as well as a daughter Alabama, 17, and stepdaughter Atiana, 24.

The musician posted a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) after his wife's life-saving fetal surgery, where he shared his relief that their baby is healthy.

"God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday," he penned.
