Following the announcement that Kourtney Kardashian had to undergo "urgent fetal surgery" to save her unborn child's life, her husband Travis Barker has spoken out.

As previously reported, Kourtney released a heartfelt Instagram post where she described the medical ordeal she faced during her current pregnancy.

This revelation follows the abrupt departure of Travis, the renowned Blink-182 drummer, from his tour due to an "urgent family matter."

In the social media post, Kourtney noted that this pregnancy was far apart from the "easy" pregnancies she had had with her previous children.

She admitted: "I don't think anyone who hasn't been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.

"I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby's life," she went on while adding that Travis earned special recognition as her "rock" for leaving his tour to be by her side during the emergency.

Kourtney also acknowledged her own mother, Kris Jenner, noting: "And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this."

The relief in Kourtney's post came after Travis shared concerning photos of a prayer room, signifying his departure from the Blink-182 tour to be with his wife.

The drummer has since released a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), where he shared his relief that both Kourtney and their baby are healthy.

"God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday," he penned.

The experience brought Kourtney a newfound understanding and respect for mothers who have faced similar challenges during pregnancy. She concluded her heartfelt Instagram caption by recognizing her ability to leave the hospital with her unborn baby boy still safe in her womb as "the truest blessing," adding "praise be to God."

Fans and celebrities alike penned messages of support to the couple, with Alyssa Milano writing: "Sending you all the strength I can muster. And love. Tons of love."

Suki Waterhouse said: "Thank god you are both safe. So much love," while Winnie Harlow added: "God bless. Sending you all the love and prayers of healing."

This will be Kardashian's fourth child as she has three children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, two of whom are boys - Mason, 13, and Reign, eight - and one daughter named Penelope, 11, meaning the new baby will be her third son.

Meanwhile, Barker has one son, 19-year-old Landon, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, as well as a daughter Alabama, 17, and stepdaughter Atiana, 24.
