Wearing sunglasses on the red carpet can look rude or snobby. But when it comes to Hollywood stars, there are some people who are so cool that they've earned the right to keep their shades on at all times.

Al Pacino is one such star. At least, that's what Lady Gaga thinks.

The pair posed alongside Jared Leto at the US premiere of their new movie, House of Gucci, which took place at Jazz at Lincoln Square in New York on Tuesday.

One clip shows the trio standing together on the red carpet. As they smile at the cameras, a photographer can be heard asking 81-year-old Pacino to take off his sunglasses.

"Take off your glasses, Al," he calls.

The Scarface star happily obliges, removing his shades. But his co-star Gaga - who won an Oscar for her original song in 2019's A Star Is Born - was not impressed with the request.

"Don't make him take his glasses off he's Al Pacino!" she joked indignantly.

"C'mon," added Leto, playing along.

Within seconds, the legendary actor had his shades back on. "In case you didn't know," he said, laughing.

The clip has since been widely shared on Twitter and has racked up hundreds of thousands of views, with many people agreeing with Gaga and praising her for her no-nonsense response.

"She's not wrong," wrote one user.

"How dare you [ask] Alfredo James Pacino to take his glasses off," commented another.

"Put respect on Al's name," added a third.

Ridley Scott's House of Gucci, which as well as Gaga, Pacino and Leto also stars Adam Driver, Salma Hayek, and Jeremy Irons, will follow the bloodstained history of the illustrious Gucci family.

Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, the wife of Maurizio Gucci (Driver), who was convicted of hiring hitmen to murder her husband after he left her for another woman. The socialite - who became known as the black widow - spent eighteen years behind bars for hiring the hit in 1995.

Pacino is set to star as fashion house chairman and family patriarch Aldo Gucci, while Leto is unrecognizable in his role as designer and vice-president Paolo Gucci.

The film hits movie theaters on November 24, 2021.
