Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen have said they're "deeply saddened" by news of their former on-screen dad Bob Saget's death on Sunday, January 9.
The Olsen twins played the shared role of Michelle Tanner, the youngest TV daughter of Bob Saget's character Danny Tanner. They starred alongside Saget in Full House from 1987 to 1995.
"Bob was the most loving, compassionate, and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has," Mary-Kate and Ashley said in a statement.
"We are thinking of his daughters, wife, and family and are sending our condolences," they added.
Despite not being involved with the show's Netflix reboot Fuller House, Mary-Kate and Ashley, both 35, continued to stay in touch with Saget over the years.
Saget was found dead in his hotel room at Florida's Ritz-Carlton just two hours after his stand-up show. He was 65.
Per BBC News, the exact details surrounding his death remain unclear. But in a short statement posted to Twitter, the Sheriff's Department said that detectives had found no signs of foul play or drug use during initial inquiries.
Saget's family has issued a statement confirming his death.
"We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today," they told Fox News. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."
"Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world," the statement added.
Saget was touring the state and last performed on January 8, in Jacksonville. He was set to be touring his stand-up show until May.
In addition to his role in Full House, Saget was also known for hosting America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 as well as being the voice of the future Ted Mosby in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
In the later stages of his career, Saget returned to his stand-up roots, touring comedy shows around America.
