Following Dolly Parton's showstopping performance on Thanksgiving, many of her fans have been calling for the star to perform at next year's Super Bowl.
After taking to the field at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, the 77-year-old 'Jolene' singer wowed the crowd and viewers with her stunning halftime show for the Commanders-Cowboys game in Dallas.
As well as performing crowd favorites such as '9 to 5' and Queen's 'We Are the Champions', Parton also looked sensational in a blue and white Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit.
It was an energetic performance that left some of Parton's fans believing she was "aging backward".
Unsurprisingly, Parton left many viewers clamoring for more, and some fans even took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to plead with Parton to consider performing at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.
"Dolly Parton PLEASE do the Super Bowl Half Time Show! You are amazing," one person tweeted, with a second adding: "Dear @AppleMusic & @NFL, Who do I need to talk to get Dolly to play the Super Bowl next season? Please make it happen."
In fact, although Parton is one of the biggest living music stars on the planet, it may seem surprising that she's never performed at the show - which is undoubtedly one of the most-watched live musical events of the year.
Well, it turns out that she's been asked plenty of times, but has always turned down the opportunity.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in September, Parton revealed that she has been asked to perform the Super Bowl Halftime show "many times", but has always said no.
Explaining why, she said: "I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production."
"When you think about those shows, those are big, big productions," she continued. "I’ve never done anything with that big of a production. I don’t know if I could have. I think at the time that’s what I was thinking."
However, following the release of her new album, Rockstar, Parton feels like she may finally be deserving of such a gig.
"It would make more sense," she told the outlet. "That might change. I might be able to do a production show."
But don't get your hopes up about seeing Dolly at the Super Bowl in 2024, as that spot has already been confirmed. Back in September, it was announced that Usher will be performing the Halftime Show at Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024.
The 45-year-old chart-topper is perhaps best known for his hits 'OMG', 'Love In This Club', and 'Yeah!' - meaning it should definitely be a show you won't want to miss.
But let's hope Dolly changes her mind by 2025!
