Florence Pugh has opened up about her new look after she debuted a stunning buzzcut at this year's Met Gala.
The 27-year-old actress arrived at the Met Gala with the creative director of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, while wearing a stunning white drop-waist Valentino gown.
While she was wearing an extravagant feathered headpiece, it was her buzzcut underneath that got fans talking as she had chopped off her hair.
The Midsommar star sat down with the Radio Times and opened up about her sudden hairstyle change, stating that it was purposeful.
"I purposefully chose to look like that. I wanted vanity out of the picture," Pugh explained. "Hollywood is very glamorous - especially for women - and it's hard for an audience to see past that."
She continued: "Whenever I've not needed to be glam or have a full face of make-up, I fight to keep it that way. It helps the audience. Vanity is gone. The only thing that people can look at then is your raw face.
"Even at the beginning of my career, I was always fighting to control my image. It helps me when I'm wearing less make-up because then I'm less of a sparkly thing on screen. I feel like I'm allowed to do ugly faces like it's more acceptable."
Pugh is set to take the big screen yet again as the highly anticipated Oppenheimer hits movie theaters. The epic follows J. Robert Oppenheimer and his journey to creating the first atomic bomb and is directed by Christopher Nolan.
"It's one of the biggest movies I've made," Pugh went on. "Chris's approach is similar to indie movie-making. It reminded me of the early days when I was used to a fast-paced way of working - where, if you lost a scene from the day, you would lose it from the movie.
Watch the trailer for Oppenheimer below:"When I walked on set, I couldn't believe there was that similar, incredible adrenaline, which I hadn't felt on a massive movie for a long time. It's a wonderful thing to inject into a film set - believing in yourself and what you're making."
The movie is set to release on July 21, the same day as Barbie - meaning that two completely different movies are going head to head at the box office. Many fans have also chosen to watch the two back-to-back when they finally arrive.
