Police have spoken out after finding the body of Power Rangers actor Jason David Frank in a Texas hotel room on Saturday (November 19).

The 49-year-old was perhaps best known for his role as the Green Power Ranger Tommy Oliver in 1993's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as previously reported.

He starred in the hit kid's series alongside Austin St John (Jason Lee Scott), Walter Emmanuel Jones (Zack Taylor), Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly Hart), David Yost (Billy Cranston), and Thuy Trang (Trini Kwan) who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2001, per Metro.

However, given Frank's immense popularity with fans, he was promoted to the White Power Ranger - the leader of the group - and went on to star in a whopping 123 episodes during his time in the role.

As well as being an actor, Frank was a respected mixed martial artist, making his MMA debut in 2010 and defeating Jonathon "The Mack Truck" Mack in the first round, per a previous report.

Sadly, Frank ended his life on Saturday (November 19), with police discovering his body in a hotel room in Texas following a frantic call from his wife Tammie.

The pair - who are going through a divorce - had checked into two separate rooms at the hotel on Friday (November 18), with staff being called to Tammie's room as the couple became embroiled in a heated dispute, per TMZ.

After a further argument, law enforcement sources allegedly told the outlet that Tammie was then locked out of her husband's room, prompting her to call the police at around 05:00 AM on Saturday morning. When Frank was unresponsive, management assisted police officers in entering the room where they found the 49-year-old's lifeless body.

According to the report, Frank had tragically passed away after hanging himself in the hotel room's bathroom.

Per a previous TMZ report, a representative for the actor, Justine Hunt, said: "Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.

"He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed."

Our thoughts go out to Jason David Frank's family, friends, and fans at this tragic time.
