Ken Block, a rally car driver who previously appeared on Top Gear, has died following a snowmobile accident in Utah, it has been confirmed.
Block, 55, began his rally career in 2005 and became one of the most famous drivers in the world after he was named Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship, as reported by Sky News.
He went on to compete in the World Rally Championship and won several medals while taking part in the X Games.
The star took his talents to a wider audience as he appeared in two episodes of the British car review show Top Gear, and also created a hit YouTube channel.
Block produced the widely followed Gymkhana video series which featured himself performing a series of high-adrenaline stunts such as driving on dangerous tracks.
The rally star sadly passed away on Monday (January 2) following a snowmobile accident. The sheriff's office in Utah's Wasatch County explained that Block was riding on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended and landed on top of him.

As cited by Sky News, the Sheriff's Office confirmed: "He [Block] was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident."
Block released his final YouTube video two weeks ago where he went behind the scenes at the 2022 American Rally Association, titled: "Go fast risk every thang [sic]."
He had also released a series of images of wintery conditions in Utah to his Instagram page, with one of his final stories being behind the wheel of a car with the caption: "Sketchy and snowy drive with some great snowboard entertainment."
