Viewers have been left stunned after spotting "Eminem" competing at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The archery men’s team quarterfinals took place on Monday (July 29), with host country France beating team Italy 6-2.

However, it wasn’t a complete loss for some members of the Italian team as athlete Mauro Nespoli rose to fame online as award-winning rapper Eminem's doppelganger.

A picture of the 36-year-old athlete was shared on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption "Italian Eminem," and it has amassed 117K likes on the platform as of the time of writing.

The image showed Nespoli looking very focused (and freakishly similar to Slim Shady) as he sported an Italy jersey and a bucket hat.

Upon seeing the picture, many users took to the social media platform to share their reactions to the Italian Eminem.

One person on the platform joked that his name is "Marcello Mathers" instead of Mauro Nespoli.

"Italian Eminem eating mom's spaghetti it all makes sense now!" a second user quipped, referencing the famous line in his Academy-award-winning song 'Lose Yourself,' "Bros palms are definitely sweaty," a third added.

A fourth wrote: "The Real Slim Shady please stand up," while a fifth cleverly remarked: "You only get one shot."

The Olympian also chimed in on the hilarious commentary by reposting a post about the commentary on his Instagram Story. He captioned it with: "Wanna try some shot," and added a bow and arrow emoji.

Nespoli is one of the most decorated athletes in his home country. He previously won a gold medal in the team archery event at the 2012 Olympics in London, where the Italians defeated the United States in the final.

He has two more medals to his name - a silver in the team event at the 2008 Beijing Games, and a silver in the individual event at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

Italy currently sits 8th in the medal table at Paris 2024 with 13 medals. So far, the country has earned three golds, six silvers, and four bronzes.
