A fifth woman has accused Adam Levine of sending her flirtatious messages.

Alabama college student Ashley Russell claims that the married Maroon 5 frontman direct messaged her "almost every day" until she warned him he was going to get caught.

Russell's allegations come after four other women claimed Levine had been messaging them inappropriately. The 43-year-singer shares two kids with his wife of eight years, Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo, who is currently pregnant with their third child.

According to Russell, Levine first started viewing her Instagram stories in March this year. The 21-year-old Auburn University senior - who runs a health and exercise account with over 5,100 followers - said that he began liking her posts and responding to her Stories, particularly those that showed off her toned legs and glutes.

"[He would message] almost every day at night around 10:00PM my time. I would check every time I posted a story, which was every day, and it was always viewed by him," Russell told the Daily Mail.

"He would like mainly like booty stories and would always reply with something to do with leg or booty day at the gym," she added.

Levine allegedly told Russell that he had found her account via his Instagram explore page. "I knew it was weird so I wanted to keep it going to see if it got worse," she explained. "When I told him he was going to get caught DMing girls like me he stopped texting me."

Russell claims that the Maroon 5 star would delete his messages as soon as she had read them - but that she managed to take screenshots of his flirtatious DM's when they appeared as notifications on her phone.

In one alleged message, dated March 13, Levine writes: "Leg day. The most important and the easiest to skip," per the Daily Mail.

Other screenshots - shared with and published by the outlet - allegedly show the singer complimenting her legs, saying: "Nice work on legs. #commitment." He also appears to ask about her age, writing: "You're in college right?"

Russell joins four other women who have already spoken out about the singer's inappropriate behavior, including Summer Stroh, who alleged that she and Levine had an "affair".

Yesterday (September 22), Levine responded to the allegations in his Instagram Stories, saying: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air."

The frontman continued: "I used poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life."

Levine added that "in certain instances" his behavior "became inappropriate", but that he has "addressed that" and "taken proactive steps to remedy this with [his] family".

The 'Sugar' singer continued: "My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility."
