Taylor Swift is drastically impacting the economy, and you can probably guess why.
Since her Eras Tour kicked off back in March, we've seen an influx of attention surrounding the 33-year-old.
Spanning 131 shows across five continents, the Eras Tour has been hailed as Swift's most expansive ever tour, and with new dates being announced as and when they crop up, who knows how many extra performances the 'You Belong With Me' hitmaker will be treating her fans to.
According to several reports by Pollstar, the tour is estimated to rake in an astounding $1.4 billion by the time it ends in August next year, catapulting the Grammy-award-winning singer to new levels of financial success.
Already, Swift has managed to secure a whopping $300 million from only 22 shows.
Following deductions for concert promoter Messina Touring Group and production costs, Forbes projects Taylor's gross earnings from these performances to be around $110 million - a third of the overall profit.
This figure, however, is most likely to drop to double digits after further logistical deductions, but with over 100 more to go, we can only imagine how much cash the star is set to make by the time her tour comes to an end in 2024.
And it's paying off for the American economy too, according to the Federal Reserve.
On Wednesday (July 12), the central bank released its Beige Book, which cited an increase in hotel bookings in several areas thanks to Swifties.
"Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city," Philadelphia Federal Reserve officials reported.
Swift put on a 3-day extravaganza at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia with her tour earlier this year, performing on May 12, 13 and 14 with her 44-song set list, as per USA Today.
Philly wasn't the only area impacted by the 33-year-old's tour.
Other places also saw a drastic increase in tourism when Swift's Eras Tour dates hit, with marketing agency Choose Chicago reporting that their area saw $39 million generated in hotel revenue for Illinois, while NBC News added that Swifties brought more than $2.6 million into downtown hotels, as well as $5.3 million to hotels in the surrounding areas of Cincinnati in Ohio.
The 'Cruel Summer' singer has really been feeding her fans well over this period.
From multiple 'easter eggs' relating to Swift's break up with her former boyfriend of six years Joe Alwyn to people accusing her of witchcraft, all the way to fan antics that saw people re-selling tubs of rainwater from different concerts, this world tour has really brought us the entertainment we needed over the past few months.
We can't wait to see what the star has in store for us as the tour continues.
