The coronavirus pandemic has changed life as we know it in 2020. Almost everything that we were looking forward to this year has been impacted by the virus, and that includes many celebrity events like the Met Gala, which typically takes place on the first Monday of May.
However, as it has always done, life does go on, and now Average Joes have decided to make the best of a bad situation by recreating some iconic looks from the event on social media in what's become known as the Met Gala Challenge and we are here for it.
Needless to say, the more elaborate the outfit undertaking, the more impressive the result.

The #MetGalaChallenge was started by Vogue and Billy Porter, and it encouraged people to get creative at home, and let's just say that the results could give some of the actual designers from the event a run for their money.
One of the most popular celebrities to emulate was Rhianna, and as you're about to see, she has inspired some serious Met Gala emulation looks.

But it's not just Average Joes who are taking on the challenge; Mindy Kaling also recreated Jared Leto's Gucci look, with the fake head and everything.

So, if at any point during the lockdown you find yourself twiddling your thumbs, you might want to take some inspiration from your favorite celebrity and emulate one of their iconic Met Gala looks (the internet will thank you for it).
In fact, if your look is particularly good, Vogue magazine will feature it on their social media accounts. Now that's a lockdown claim to fame!
This comes a year after Cardi B's "menstruation" gown stole the show at the 2019 Meta Gala.
