Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, several celebrities have been taking to social media to share their thoughts on the global crisis, and offer their "words of wisdom" to their fans... with mixed results.

Last week, Vanessa Hudgens was slated on social media for telling her followers during a live-stream: "I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?"

And Gal Gadot left many people outraged after organizing a celeb-packed rendition of John Lennon's 'Imagine' amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Madonna has spoken out from her bathtub about the coronavirus crisis, telling her 14.9 million Instagram followers: "That's the thing about COVID-19. It doesn't care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are."

Check out the bizarre video below:

The Queen of Pop continued: "How smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell. It's the great equalizer and what's terrible about is it what's great about it.

"What's terrible about it is that it's made us all equal in many ways and what's wonderful about is, is that it's made us all equal in many ways.

"Like I used to say at the end of human nature every night, if the ship goes down, we're all going down together."

Madonna accompanied the video with a snap of her giving a smoldering look into the camera as two roses covered her chest.

But, rather than embrace the message of "equality" from her words, many Instagram users lashed out at the star for her "stupid" video, with many pointing out the singer does not share the same financial worries as most people.

Instagram user alexinobcn said: "This video is stupid. We all know [that] you are in your own rich confinement. You live in other reality Madge. Stop it. With petals on your rich bath, oh my god. Covid19 [makes] distinction cause you can afford your own respiratory machine. Stop trivialize this awful situation please."

User mykethemakeupguy commented: "Wrong!! Sorry Madonna but the wealthy like yourself can get tested even with no symptoms but all us regular Joe's get turned away".

Another user, shamey_ames, passionately typed: "Except it's not equal. Except we see people with a lot of money and fame able to get tested very quickly. Hollywood stars and NBA players MLB players etc while the rest of the normies struggle. While the medical field struggles. While your average Joe must wait and wait and wait to get a test if they ever get one. The same will go for treatment.

"Money will never allow us to all be equal. We have billionaires doing nothing, we have multi-millionaires singing imagine together while we all roll our eyes and wonder where is your money going to help the masses? If it's really time to be equal then let's walk the walk instead of talking The talk."

Another angry Instagram user wrote: "What an absolutely disgusting and revolting post. You really must be so self-indulgent to post such a pompous arrogant display when so many people are suffering so terribly.

"You really think that you are so special people will forget all about the misery in the entire world by looking at your naked body in the bathtub filled with rose petals. What a horrible thing to do. To flaunt your wealth and [privilege] at a time like this. And to imply that you are our equal is a sin!"
