Vanilla Ice is the latest star to take aim at Miranda Lambert's apparent anger at people taking selfies in the crowd by encouraging his own fans to take as many pictures as they want.

Miranda, 39, raised eyebrows after she shamed some fans in the crowd that were taking selfies as she performed her 2016 single 'Tin Man' at the Bakkt Theater in Las Vegas.

In a clip which has since gone viral, the country star paused her how to call them out, saying: "I'm going to stop right here for a second.

"These girls are worried about their selfies and not listening to the song. It's p**sing me off a little bit. I don't like it. At all. We're here to hear some country music tonight. I'm singing some country damn music."

The awkward interlude led to some fans in the crowd choosing to walk out mid-show, not being impressed with the singer publicly drawing attention to the selfie-takers.

While Miranda may prefer her audience to take in her lyrics rather than take selfies, other stars have encouraged their own fans to do whatever they want seeing as they paid the price of the ticket to be there.

Vanilla Ice is one such artist that poked fun at Miranda's decision, after inviting fans to join him onstage while performing 'Ice Ice Baby' during the 'I Love the ‘90s' show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which also included sets from Rob Base, Tone Loc, Young MC and C&C Music Factory.

Calling out the country singer directly, he told them: "You can take all the selfies you want — this ain’t no Miranda Lambert concert."

Later in the set he covered '24K Magic', entering the crowd to interact with fans. He encouraged them to take even more photos, telling a fan to flip her phone around by saying: "Turn it around like Miranda hates."

Miranda's decision to call out fans taking photos - which isn't against the rules at almost any show - hasn't gone down well with many of her fans and peers.

Social media influencer Adela Calin, who was among the group Miranda called out for taking selfies, told NBC News she was "appalled" at the way the star had shamed them.

"It was 30 seconds at most," she said. "We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down."

LL Cool J also called the singer's decision out, telling Audacy's Mercedes In The Morning: "Miranda, get over it, baby! Your job as an artist is to create art, the way that fans interact with that art or engage with it or appreciate it is up to them!"

He added: "If you want to come to my show and sit there and eat a bowl of potato salad with a baseball hat down to your nose, that’s what you choose to do. You’ve got to let the fans do what they want to do. What about all of the thousands of people who aren’t doing that? What, you got rules? No yellow shirts!"

The rapper added that he had "nothing unkind" to say about Miranda but thought that she should let her fans enjoy themselves as they choose: "I wish her the best and she has a right to her feelings, but for me, I let the fans be the fans, do what they want to do."

When it comes to his own show, LL Cool J added: "Come to the show and enjoy yourself. It’s going to be three and a half hours of nonstop hip-hop. If you want to take selfies, if want to bring the old camera, the old Polaroids from the early 1800s, that’s up to you."
