Gaming YouTuber PewDiePie has had a bumper month, marrying his longterm girlfriend Marzia Bisognin, and hitting 100 million subscribers on the platform.
The news comes after the Swedish star (whose real name is Felix Kjellberg) found himself in a race with T-Series, an Indian record label and film production company, to hit the coveted 100 million.
In the video below, PewDiePie opens up about his success:Last year, the 29-year-old said he "really didn't care" who got 100 million subscribers first, saying: "Everyone is going on the rant, 'YouTube is not really becoming YouTube' and, 'it's never going to be the same now'.
"I think if YouTube does shift in a way where it does feel more corporate, [then] something else will take its place."
However, this didn't stop PewDiePie's fans from uniting in a bid to get the 29-year-old to 100 million subscribers first. They went as far as taking out ads in TVs, newspapers, and billboards to encourage people to subscribe.
Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain and T-Series hit 100 million subscribers back in May. But this still makes PewDiePie the first individual on the platform to hit 100 million subscribers.

That's absolute madness! No one deserves it more. Consistently humble, incredibly hard-working and one of the nicest guys I've met. Massive congrats!!"
PewDiePie himself has yet to acknowledge hitting 100 million. He's probably too busy enjoying life as a married man, or, he really just doesn't care.

PewDiePie's wife was equally delighted, writing on Instagram: "Yesterday, the 19th of August - after exactly 8 years since we met - we celebrated our wedding with our closest friends and family."
"It was the most beautiful day, which I will treasure forever. I am so thankful for all the people that made time to attend the event and helped us celebrate our marriage.
I feel like I'm the luckiest person and I'm so full of love. Incredibly ecstatic to be able to call Felix my husband for the rest of our lives."
