Every time I feel a little bit down in the dumps, jaded and tired of the constant daily grind, Aldi comes through with another excellent product to brighten my spirits.

Whether it's a heated clothes airer to help out over the winter months, a candy cane gin liqueur for the ultimate festive treat, or the many excellent pool floats they sold for this summer's shenanigans, it's fair to say that Aldi, and their wonderful special buys section, has had our backs this year.

And don't think that as we draw into the winter months they're going to be slowing down either.

Personally, I'm already excited for the array of wonderful festive products the chain is undoubtedly going to come out with. And it appears that Aldi is starting early this year, after it was announced that they would be selling a two-metre long pig in blanket for just £4.99.

Yes, you heard that right, this pig in blanket is two whole metres long, which is, according to Aldi, the longest piece of meat available in the UK. Which is quite something, really, isn't it?

Now, it's not up to me to tell you how to enjoy your pigs in blankets, but this could be invaluable for your Christmas dinner. You might just end up arguing over who gets the biggest piece of the gargantuan sausage. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get your hands on the sizeable sausage until December 5th, the Mirror reports.

If you're after the perfect tipple to go with your colossal pig in blanket, then Aldi have some products that might interest you, too. There's the afore mentioned candy cane gin liqueur, or this innovative colour changing gin. Aldi describe the product thus;

"This McQueen Forest Fruits gin comes in a beautifully embossed bottle and is made from the Asian Butterfly Pea Flower's petals. The natural ingredient is PH reactive and causes the gin to change colour when a mixer is added. Watch the colour change from blue to pink!"

It's going to be a tasty Christmas this year!
