An elderly couple has tied the knot after meeting on a dating site and is inspiring others with their love story.
As reported by People, 93-year-old Robert Marshall and 88-year-old Anne Cooper-Menguy's tale began after Marshall came across Cooper-Menguy's online dating profile in October 2019.
For him, Anne's picture captured him, making him feel an "unbelievable force" and he knew from that very moment that she was the woman he wanted to share the rest of his life with.
After two years, the newlyweds got married and share their story in hopes of encouraging other people - regardless of age - to never give up on finding love.
Check out their wedding pictures below:Both Robert and Anne were widowed before logging onto Match.com. The wife said that most older people consider it the "end of an era" when they lose a partner, but today, people are "healthier and living longer".
Anne has a daughter, Myla Pridgen, a son, Kjell Purnel, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren while Robert has two daughters, Gabrielle Salomon and Annette Franey, three grandchildren, and one step-grandchild, per the East Hampton Star.
Before Robert - who has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology - came across Anne's profile, he said that he had already been using the dating website for about two years and probably went through "10,000 pictures" and "100 telephone conversations".
But one day, he saw Anne's picture in what he describes meant "more than a thousand words," and made him want to contact her just from the photo.
Their first date was at a French restaurant and Anne said she thought Robert looked like Sam Spade - the private detective from The Maltese Falcon - when she saw him standing on the corner in a trench coat waiting for her outside her apartment.
"I started to fall in love with him right off the bat," Anne told People. "He's got gentleness mixed with strength. He's everything I ever dreamed of in a man since I was little."
The couple went on a Caribbean cruise for two weeks in March 2020, and when they returned, New York's COVID-19 lockdown had begun so they decided to quarantine together.
During quarantine, Anne - who is an interior designer - spent most of her time at Robert's home in East Hampton and redecorated his New York apartment after it flooded.
After their cruise and quarantine, the couple officially got engaged on Christmas, and on June 11, they had their East Hampton Point nuptials.
The bride dazzled in a pink dress with a lacy top and said: "It was the best wedding ever. The whole room was full of nothing but love, both sides of the aisle."
Robert also said the special day is embedded into his memory forever, and that they "touched so many souls" and are both "so happy" to have found each other.
The couple vowed to dedicate their lives to making sure the other is healthy and happy, and also had some funny promises such as Robert allowing Anne to watch Fox News three hours a week, and her letting Robert rant about Trump three hours a week.
"We have such a strong, sincere, warm love," Anne said. "It's contagious."
Congratulations to Robert and Anne!

An elderly couple has tied the knot after falling madly in love with one another when they met online during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Per Oprah Daily, Jim Adams, 78, and Audrey Coutts, 79, matched on the dating site Silver Singles late last year, months after coronavirus began spreading throughout the world.
"I came across Audrey on my first go-through on the site," Adams recalled to the outlet. "It only took a day to find her. After that, I didn't need it anymore. I said, 'Well, I have to meet this person who's as crazy as I am.' "
Silver Singles has a compatibility meter that calculates how well matched a particular couple is based on their shared interests. From their individual answers, the love calculator deemed their compatibility to be at 94 percent.
Coutts, whose previous marriage ended 33 years ago, told Oprah Daily that she had been using this particular dating site for years but had never been lucky enough to match with someone she saw any potential with - until she stumbled across Adams' profile.
"We just fit. We clicked," Coutts said. "We still don't know why it wasn't 100."
It was just three months after they first met that Adams, whose wife passed away in 2017, asked Coutts to move in with him. He then asked her to become his wife earlier this year in May.
"It seemed like I'd been living with her for years," Adams said. "I'd be sitting here thinking about something, then she would say it. I would start to say something, and she'd say the same thing almost at the same time."
"We were connected," he added. "So what were we waiting for? The only reason it took me so long to propose was I had to find the ring, and that took two months."
"We live on a quiet street, and we have a quiet life," the doting husband added of their life together. "We can spend days on end doing very little and when it's raining, we don't even need to go out. I paint, I'll rub Audrey's feet, and go back and paint some more."

A man who married an 81-year-old woman when he was 35 has explained that it was love at first sight, despite there being a 46-year age gap.
Iris Jones, from Weston-super-Mare in the UK, met Mohamed on a Facebook group and they tied the knot in Egypt in 2020, though this was much to the disapproval of Iris' family.
As per the Daily Mail, the now 83-year-old's family gave her the silent treatment after the pair got married, maybe because the reception was in a KFC.
The couple called for the then Prime Minister Boris Johnson to allow Mohamed to settle in the UK as he would be an "asset" to the country.
Iris and her husband appeared on the British talk show This Morning where they told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about their relationship.
"He is wonderful, but the fact that their father is younger than their sons is maybe a point of contention. But it makes no difference. I'm older than his mother and father, my mother-in-law and father-in-law are younger than me, it makes no difference, we love each other and that's all that matters" Iris said.
The topic then moved onto how the ceremony went, which they confessed was not a traditional wedding.
"It was an exchange of documents. We had to sign several documents for the signature," Iris said. "After that, the document was handed to us, one for Mohamed and one for me, all in Arabic, I don't know what it says at all. It might say that i'm completely under his thumb, but if that's the case, I'm not."
Mohamed said: "My [feeling] is very good, we have in the past difficulties. Egyptian men are good men who take care of their wives."
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he further explained how he fell in love with Iris: "I was very nervous but the moment I laid eyes on her I knew that it was true love. I’m a very lucky man to have found a woman like this.
"I don’t care where we live or how rich or poor she is, I just want to be with Iris," Mohamed continued. "At the end of the day, which country she wants to make her home is her choice; it can be either Britain or Egypt.
"People think I am with her for all the wrong reasons. I know Britain is a beautiful country and a lot of people want to go there but I’m not bothered. I'm prepared to live with her anywhere in the world."
He went on to reveal that his mother is happy with his bride and getting his mother's seal of approval is all that really matters to him.
Mohamed further explained: "It might seem a bit strange having a wife who is 20 years older than your mother but that’s love. It makes you blind. When you are a man and you fall in love with a woman, it doesn’t matter how old she is or what she looks like."

A couple who are both in their 90s have tied the knot in a heartwarming ceremony after finding love during lockdown.
Per The New York Times, Joy Morrow-Nulton and John Shults, who are both 95-years-old and have been widowed twice, first started dating in May of 2019 but went on to fall in love during the pandemic in 2020 when they became dependent on one another for close contact.
Per CBS News, the pair found an instant connection with each other, and soon indulged in romantic dates such as strolling along the Hudson River, taking long drives, playing with dozens of balloons, and phoning each other at least once a day.
Smitten with Morrow-Nulton, Shults decided that he wanted her hand in marriage, but had to pop the question many times before she finally accepted his proposal.
The elderly lovers received their second vaccination together and went on to marry in a New York ceremony on May 22. Their nuptials were attended by 50 guests, and Morrow-Nulton was walked down the aisle by her son, John Morrow, and the wedding was officiated by Shults' son, Pastor Pete Shults.
A wedding reception was later held beneath a pavilion at the Robert Post Park, which also pulled double-duty as a celebration of their 95th birthdays.
The New York Times reports that Morrow-Nulton was born in Mount Kisco in New York State back in 1926, and grew up in White Plains. She married her first husband, Robert Morrow, in 1949 and had two children, John and Melanie.
Morrow died in 1984, and Joy married her second husband, Thomas Nulton, in 1986. Nulton passed away in 2016.
Shults was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania in 1926, and was married to Elizabeth Salzmann Shults from 1956 until her death in 1997. Shults then married Mary Fuller in 1999, but she passed away in 2017.
Opening up about her unexpected romance, Morrow-Nulton told The New York Times: "I knew he loved me. He would call and say: 'What are we going to have for lunch? Where are we going to go today?'"
She added: "It's true there's not a lot of men my age. And even though we're both 95, I'm 12 days older. One of my friends said: 'Oh, Joy, you’re a cougar'."
Meanwhile, Shults stated: "I'm not lonely anymore. I don't think we'll get sick of each other."

A grandma who went viral for her crude remarks about what she and her 'toy boy' husband get up to in their spare time has announced their split.
We first heard about 83-year-old Iris Jones when she appeared on the British daytime talk show, This Morning, where she spilled the details of her relationship with Mohamed Ibriham, a 37-year-old from Egypt.
The pair had initially met on Facebook in 2019 and a year later, they decided to tie the knot in a small ceremony after having a long-distance relationship online.
During her appearance, she revealed that she and her husband had a wild night of intense passion during their first time together, stating that they used an "entire tube of KY jelly," which left Iris "saddle sore" also adding that her favorite sex position was "doggy fashion."
At the time, the pair celebrated their love despite having over a 40-year age gap.
There were also rumors circling about Mohamed's intentions for marrying the British senior citizen, with many contemplating whether it was just for financial support or a passport.
However, he swiftly put an end to those rumors, stating people could "go to hell" if they doubted his love for his now-former wife.
"The love does not know any difference between age or countries. Iris chose me and I chose Iris," he said on the show. "I want to say for all the people who attack our love, it's none of your business, focus on your lives, go to hell. That is all."
In a separate interview with MailOnline, he added: "I don't care where we live or how rich or poor she is, I just want to be with Iris. At the end of the day, which country she wants to make her home is her choice; it can be either Britain or Egypt.
"People think I am with her for all the wrong reasons," he continued. "I know Britain is a beautiful country and a lot of people want to go there but I'm not bothered. I'm prepared to live with her anywhere in the world."
However, just two years later and the pair have now called it quits.
Speaking to Closer, Iris spoke of her old lover, saying: "I adored everything about Mohammed. But it became hard work. We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything.
"I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83," she added.
Instead Iris has a new love now - her cat.
"I got him just a few days after Mohammed moved out and he’s the perfect companion. He never complains, is very quiet and beautiful to look at – I adore him," she told the outlet. "And he’s very happy here and doesn’t create a mess, I’m not missing Mohammed at all, the thing that annoyed me the most when he left was he took my tempura battered prawns that I’d planned for my dinner that night."
Oh no he didn't!
We're glad Iris is happy despite the unfortunate news, but hey, at least she has her little cat now.

A 72-year-old grandmother has claimed to found love with a 19-year-old that she met at her son's funeral.
Almeda and Gary Hardwick wed back in 2016 - two weeks after they first met. The pair became acquainted at the funeral of Almeda's son, Robert, who died aged 45 after suffering a seizure.
Almeda was married for 43 years before her first husband passed away. She has maintained, however, that her new partner is her "soulmate", describing her relationship as a "whirlwind".

"I was married for 43 years and there wasn’t a lot of kissy, huggy stuff going on…no romance," Almeda stated her YouTube show, Girl's Talk. "[Our relationship] is a whirlwind. We are always complimenting and kissing. We’re enjoying our relationship. When you meet that perfect one, that’s when you know you don’t want to lose that feeling."
"The compliments, the hugs the kisses… that’s very romantic. The couple revealed the first time they had sex was on their wedding night, and described each other as 'wonderful lovers'."
Almeda also offered relationship advice to her viewers. "In our relationship, we do little things each day to help each other out. Whether he cooks me supper, or mops for me, we always thank each other," she continued.
"It’s the little things like that, cooking a meal, washing dishes. Always compliment him and show love. Show it every day, we aren’t promised tomorrow."

Gary opened up about his unconventional relationship to the New York Post. "It was wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams. She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn’t be better."
Prior to meeting Almeda, Gary was with a 77-year-old woman, but they were far from happy. "We were always fighting. I fell into depression and was looking for a way out," he explained.
Luckily, Gary's aunt, Lisa, proceeded to invite him to Robert's cremation, where he met his now "soulmate".
"I’d noticed this young man with a lovely smile during the service and thought, 'Wow, this is the one,'" Almeda said of their meeting. "He was on the other side of the church, but I kept looking over at him. It was like a bright light through the grief. Then, as I was walking to the door at the end, he came over and passed on his condolences. We didn’t have much time, but it was enough."
"It was an instant thing for me too. She had the most gorgeous, sparkling blue eyes," Gary corroborated.

Their first date was at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, where Almeda addressed her anxieties about their age gap. "I just came out with it and said to him, ‘Look, I’m 71 and you’re 17. Am I too old for you?’ He squeezed my hand, grinned and replied: 'Age is just a number'," she revealed
"Almeda is so young at heart that age never bothers us, we never really think about it. I just know that God answered my prayers that day she walked into my life," Gary added to the New York Post.
