Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler, a Beverly Hills-based surgeon, has taken to TikTok to share the four things that he claims people can do to help grow taller.
However, it is worth noting that these tips can only be applied if you're still in the process of growing, otherwise, I'm afraid that you're stuck at your current height.
The doctor explains in the video: "Only about 60 percent of height is genetics, that means 40 percent are things you can do.
"For example, I'm 6ft 2.5ins and my parents were 5ft 7ins and 5ft 5ins. So I'm gonna tell you the four key things that I did - and that's actually backed up by research."
Wachler continues: "Number one, is I slept about eight to nine hours a night, and as a teenager that's really important because that's when your body releases growth hormone and that's when you grow.
"Number two is drinking milk. I drink tons of cow milk, and that actually increases growth hormone too and also helps teenagers grow.
"Number three is lifting weights, which also increases growth hormone.
"And number four is good posture."
While Dr. Brian said that there is no way of knowing how tall you will grow, he claims that these steps will help give your body the best possible chance of reaching its maximum height.
Needless to say, the video did not go unnoticed on TikTok, and at the time of writing, it has been viewed over 1.6 million times.
Reacting to the video, one TikTok user wrote: "Lost me at 'sleep'."
A second added: "this video was 12 years too late [sic]."
A third simply remarked: "HOW GOOD IS SLEEP THOOO."
Meanwhile, a fourth questioned the validity of the doctor's claims, claiming that they did none of these things, but still managed to reach an impressive height.
They wrote: "I literally didn't go any of these 4 during my teenage years. I'm 6'3 and my parents are like 5'8 and 5'7 so that's not true."
If only I'd seen this video about 15 years ago...
