Guy proposes to his girlfriend for a month without her realising
Popping the question is a nerve-wracking experience. Sure, you might think you've found the love of your life, but there's still a chance they could say no - and providing all goes to plan, you want to make sure it's a moment you'll treasure forever.
Then there's the element of surprise. While most people know when they're in a relationship that could lead to marriage, the exact time of a proposal is best kept a secret, which can be tricky if you struggle to plan at the best of times. This is something which Edi Okoro, pictured above, knows all too well, having come up with a hilarious spontaneous proposal plan...
This is the most cringeworthy proposal to ever take place on British TV:
Taking to Facebook, Edi began by posting a picture of his now-fiancée's engagement ring and writing, "I can finally put this out there... So this was how I proposed to Cally, the other story!
"Those who have gone through this (and those who will soon find out) you want to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person and couple. Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign."
But Edi admitted that if he tried to plan something elaborate, Cally would immediately suspect that he was about to pop the question. So he decided that he was just going to have to play to his spontaneous nature and decide on the right moment whenever it arose.
"After a month or so of waiting for the right moment," he continued, "I was sitting on the sofa admiring 'my precious' (yes I became very attached to this ring by this point) Cally almost caught me staring at the ring, and it hit me!
"All these missed opportunities mixed in with the thought - Cally doesn't know I have the ring!! I should just start documenting these moments!
This escalated quickly into trying to get as many photos of Cally with the ring without her knowing!.... yes she had no idea what I was doing in these photos!!!"
He captioned the hilarious picture above: "A challenge plus my 'brave levels' maxing out, resulted in her holding the ring for a photo."
Edi eventually ended his epic proposal tale by writing: "So we did end up getting engaged, and no I didn't get caught... but how I did it is a story for another time. Stay tuned! We took this photo not long after she said YES..."
"She didn't know about this library until several weeks later..." he revealed. "My smile is a 'you know nothing Cally Read smile.'"
