A woman who was born with two vaginas has opened up about how she found out she had a rare condition after being "born normal".
Anniee Charlotte, an OnlyFans model who has earned over $2 million from her content, was only 16 when she discovered she had uterus didelphys.
The rare congenital condition occurs in the womb when two ducts fail to fuse into one uterus, leaving two separate uteruses.
It affects only around 0.3% of the population, according to the Cleveland Clinic, and can cause fertility issues - or even allow two simultaneous pregnancies.
Diagnosis at 16
Last month, the 26-year-old appeared on the Tea at Four podcast to candidly speak about living with the condition.
She revealed to the hosts, Billy and Christie, that she found out about her condition after she got her period and started passing out "all the time".
“I was in so much pain, I wasn’t able to go to school," she shared.
Her mother initially suspected endometriosis and suggested she try having a contraceptive coil fitted, as it had helped her aunt’s symptoms. But when a nurse attempted the procedure, she noticed “something is in the way.”
Charlotte was referred to a gynecologist and underwent scans, including an MRI. An internal ultrasound finally revealed the truth: she had two vaginas.
Her reaction was instant: “Obviously I was 16… I did not want two vaginas – I’d like one. I’d like to be like everyone else,” she said.
She also asked doctors if the condition explained her pain and fainting spells, but they weren’t sure.
Charlotte said she saw four gynecologists, none of whom “know anything about [her] condition".
Candid experiences
The OnlyFans star, who has grown comfortable discussing her anatomy with her partners, opened up about awkward moments she has faced due to having two vaginas.
One of the worst, she said, came during intimacy when a partner asked: “Am I in the left, yeah?”
“I don’t think about it when I’m having sex,” she admitted. “Sometimes I’d be having sex with someone and they literally be on top of me and we’ll be in the moment, and they’ll be like ‘which one am I in?’”
She said the question “kills the mood,” but joked that she usually stops to figure it out and then tells them.
Learning to embrace it
Over time, the model said her perspective shifted, and she started to embrace being different.
“I stopped looking at [having two vaginas] as a medical issue, and all the problems that could arise from having children, and instead something that was just a super-cool aspect of myself because of people’s reactions,” she told Daily Mail.
“Now, I’ve completely embraced it and accepted it as part of myself, and I’ve never been more confident,” she added.
