A woman who paid a massive $165,000 to make her legs 5.5 inches longer has said she was left with some massive regrets after the procedure.
Theresia Fischer, a former contestant on German Celebrity Big Brother, revealed she has some regrets after spending the massive sum on a procedure that left her with both physical and emotional scars.
The German model, 31, who is best known for appearing on the reality show, made the decision to undergo surgery the uncommon surgery to elongate her legs by 5.5 inches, claiming her decision was driven by her ex-partner, per the Daily Star.
The intense procedure involved her shins being cut and having telescopic rods inserted into them to gradually extend them, leaving her with visible bruises across her legs.
Theresia went under the knife when she was just 24 years old and 5'6" tall, but recently revealed that she now has mixed feelings about the grueling procedure.
She explained in an interview with radio network MDR Jump in August 2023 that she felt pressure from her ex to undergo the surgery, claiming he told her: "Theresia, you know I like big ladies. So I would really like this. You could get up to 14 centimeters more."
Theresia admitted: "[He would say] 'You can't do anything without me. You need me.' And if you are told that 20, 30, 60, 70 times – then you believe that you are nothing without him."
Following the surgery, Theresia now stands at over 6 feet tall, and she revealed that she sometimes feels "shame" at having altered her body so drastically.
She explained: "I am ashamed because I consented to an operation that shouldn't have happened. I've never dealt with that before because I've always been happy with my body."
Describing the intense procedure, Theresia revealed that her shins were deliberately broken, and her calf muscles were split: "The shin bone is broken cleanly, the calf muscles are split and a telescopic rod is used in each case."
The rods inserted into her legs then facilitate the lengthening over time, as she explained: "You stretch your lower legs independently by holding your knee with one hand and screwing your foot inward with the other hand until it clicks. Ten clicks a day on each side bring an additional 0.5 millimeters [0.02 inches]."
Although she may have some regrets about undergoing the life-changing operation so young now, back in 2019 Theresia's perspective on it was somewhat different.
At the time, she lauded the impact it had had on her sex life, stating: "My sex is better now... I have become very flexible with my legs and have more room to maneuver in bed.
"I now feel happy and satisfied with my legs, but I'm hit by a wave of hate on the Internet. It hurts me a lot. With the leg-lengthening procedure, I found myself and finally overcame my old trauma from being bullied."
