It's no secret that online dating is a minefield. Even with the best will in the world, you can end up insulted and feeling downright bad about the human race.
But sometimes, you can turn the tide in your favor with the perfect response.
Case in point, this man's reaction to being fat-shamed on Tinder.
Despite matching with the man on the dating app, the woman known only as "Becca" messaged him to say: "You're very fat. I don't like fat people. I accidentally liked you. I'm sorry."
However, despite sending this extremely rude message, the woman didn't stop there, and continued: "Please don't kill yourself. Someone will love you and your husky one day. Just not me. Cus I like normal-sized people. Which you are not. So Bye."
Now, in response to this, the man would arguably be well within his rights to get angry, however, he decided to simply calmly reply, writing: "Wait I'm fat?! When did that happen?"
He continued: "But I promise I won't kill myself. Thanks for the opinion/facts about me. I'll try to work on it. I'm not really into c***s anyway."
In response to this, the woman wrote "Listen here f***o", and that is where the conversation ended.
The exchange was subsequently posted to Bored Panda where the man was praised for his calm response to the woman.
This woman was called a "pig" after "politely" rejecting a man on Tinder:

One Bored Panda user wrote: "Anyone can diet and fix a weight problem. There isn't really a cure to being an a**hole though."
Another was more shocked by the husky statement, writing: "She must be a terrible person since she doesn't like huskies! Who hates puppers?!"
Meanwhile, a third wrote a sentiment we can all agree with: "I suddenly feel much better about myself. At least I'm not her."
This comes after people hit back at CNN's news anchor Anderson Cooper has divided people on social media after "fat-shaming" President Trump on-air.
Sadly, this sort of thing happens more often than you may think.
For example, a man's attempt to cruelly fat-shame a woman on Tinder backfired after she shared his messages with the world.
Emily Langston. Langston, from Essex in England, probably instantly regretted swiping right on a guy called Matt after he opened with the chat-up line: "I'm jealous of your heart. It's pumping inside you and I'm not".
As you can probably already tell, Matt is not the kind of guy depicted in Disney movies.
After Emily responded by saying "Well that was different", Matt - clearly annoyed that Emily hadn't been swept off her feet by his romantic comment - responded by calling her a "sl*g".
But Matt was not deterred, and blamed the sexist insult on his "teddy".
Matt then asked for clarification on who Emily was out of a picture of her friendship group, and when she responded saying that she was the one with blue hair, he asked: "What the fat one [sic]".
When an unimpressed Emily feigned intrigue and called Matt "a delight", he responded by saying: "Bet you like angel delight you fat c***".

Following their surreal conversation, Emily shared screenshots of Matt's messaged to Twitter, along with the caption: "Get yourself a boy off Tinder who talks to you like this. Oh Matt, you're cancelled x"
The post soon went viral, and Twitter users were quick to criticize Matt:

Some guys felt the need to apologize on behalf of all men:

Whereas others felt the need to apologize for all Matts:

Some Twitter users were quick to jump to Emily's defense:

And others were quick to jump to the defense of Angel Delight

But at least now everybody on Tinder knows to swipe left when Matt's profile pops up.
