A mom has been praised after she took drastic measures to stop her triplets from fighting.

Now, raising children is a difficult thing; but imagine having to raise three little ones all at once - it's a handful, to say the least. But one mom from the United Kingdom found herself a nifty little hack to keep her children from causing trouble.

Summer Shillingford, who is a mom to nine-year-old Violet and two-year-old triplets Otis, Rocco, and Prince, opened up about her method that helps stop her three boys from hitting, biting and scratching each other.

Taking to Instagram, the mom-of-four reposted her most "controversial video ever" which showed two of her three boys strapped to their wagon with their sleeves tied together to prevent them from fighting.

Take a look at the clip below:

In the caption she followed up the clip with her explanation writing: "I’d still do this a million times over to stop them hurting each other! They were so unfazed by having their sleeves tied, they just went to scratch, realized they couldn’t and they then focused on why their arms weren’t moving instead."

She added: "And literally all they needed to do was pull their arms down out of their top and they would have been free!"

The text layover in the video also read: "Some people on the internet didn't agree with it and some thought it was a great idea. What do you think?"

Hundreds of other users took to the comment section to express their opinions about the situation.

"Your children your rules," one Instagrammer stated. "You weren’t hurting them. You were stopping them hurting each other. They didn’t look distressed in the slightest and no doubt they learned from it."

"I agree with this. It is essentially a form of time out. It redirects them and takes away the “tools” that they are using to be violent. Now instead of scratching & pulling hair they are trying to figure out how to untie their shirts," another added.

A third stated: "This is a great way to stop the behaviour. No one was distressed or hurt."

However, not everyone agreed with the hack, with some even comparing the action to putting them in "handcuffs."

"Don’t think this is the way to teach them good behaviour, would you handcuff them? It’s the same thing !!!!" wrote one user while another added: "Just tell them don’t touch each other! What’s wrong with you! Be a parent. You wanted them!"

But these comments were quickly drowned out by those who showed support for the triplet mom with a lot of folks pointing out that it probably would be more dangerous to let them hurt each other than to tie up their hands.

At the time the video was originally posted, the mom was forced to clarify that this "punishment" only lasts a couple of minutes to "teach them" before adding: "You can tell by their faces they really don’t care."

What do you think about the hack?
