Coldplay kiss cam woman slams Ryan Reynolds and Gwyneth Paltrow in new interview
Kristin Cabot, known more commonly as the ‘Coldplay kiss cam woman’, has spoken out about the viral incident, criticizing Ryan Reynolds and Gwyneth Paltrow for their involvement in a controversial ad inspired by the moment.
Extra-marital activities are often subject to secrecy: wiped text conversations, covert hotel meetings, and sneaky carpark rendezvous’. However, in the case of Cabot and her boss Andy Byron, their romantic dalliances were broadcast for all to see when they were caught canoodling on a kiss cam during Coldplay’s 2025 world tour.
What did Cabot reveal to Oprah about Reynolds and Paltrow?
Cabot said she was disappointed after the Hollywood stars took part in a lighthearted campaign that referenced the scandal, which ultimately led to her losing her job.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, she described Reynolds’ and Paltrow’s actions as “really hypocritical” and unnecessary, given the personal consequences she faced.
The ad had been created for Astronomer, where Cabot worked as head of HR alongside then-CEO Byron, who was also married. It featured Paltrow, who is ironically also the ex-wife of Chris Martin, and was produced by Reynolds’ company, Maximum Effort.
Cabot 'disappointed' by those involved
Cabot argued that turning the incident into a joke overlooked the real-life impact it had on those involved. “That was really disappointing to me,” she said, noting that Paltrow’s brand promotes women’s well-being, which made her participation feel contradictory. She also added: “I don’t wanna let Ryan Reynolds off the hook either,” pointing out his role in producing the ad.
Cabot explained that neither she nor Byron had approved the campaign, despite Paltrow initially being under the impression that they had. Winfrey mentioned that Paltrow believed they had signed off, something Cabot later corrected directly with her, adding to her frustration.
The clip, which surfaced in July 2025, quickly went viral, sparking widespread attention, memes, backlash, and even threats. Cabot later said the situation affected her more deeply than Byron, despite both being involved.
Reflecting on the incident, she acknowledged her mistake but felt the public reaction had gone too far. “I own the poor decision that I made in that moment, and I’ve paid an unimaginable price for that,” she said.
