Sex therapist who has slept with 400 of her own clients reveals how much it costs to spend an hour with her
A sex therapist who has been intimate with 400 of her own clients reveals the cost of spending an hour with her.
Kaly Miller, a sex therapist known for her candidness about sleeping with over 400 clients, recently appeared on This Morning to discuss her unconventional and controversial career.
From Massage Therapy to Surrogate Partner
The 52-year-old first became interested in intimacy therapy while working as a massage therapist.
After spotting an advertisement for open-minded body therapists, she realized that her true calling lay in helping people connect with their own sexuality.
“I was not expecting it,” she said, recalling her first experience with a client, “I don’t think anyone sits at home and says, ‘I’m going to be a surrogate partner.’”
Her journey began with a client in his 60s, who had spent his life struggling with intimacy. "He told me, 'I don’t want to die without knowing what love feels like,'" Kaly shared.
This profound moment solidified her decision to pursue a surrogate partnership. "I felt I am in the right space, this is what I was born for - everyone has a karma or something to fulfil, but this is my thing," she shared.
She worked with the man for a year, helping him overcome decades of shame and embarrassment about intimacy. By the end of their sessions, he was able to engage in a long-term, intimate relationship.
"It was very [interesting] because of the age gap, he was telling me stories about his upbringing, which is once upon a time," Kaly said. “There was no VHS, no devices, if you wanted to have access to naughty things, you went to [the shop] and hid it in your jacket, hoping nobody would see you.|
Her Career and the Price of an Hour with Kaly
Kaly's career took off after she enrolled in a three-year university degree in Erotology, the study of human sexual love and desire, in 2014.
She went on to study under Vena Blanchard, the president of the International Professional Surrogates Association (IPSA).
Today, Kaly runs her own practice, The Naked Room, where she continues to work as a surrogate partner without supervision.
She estimates that she has worked with up to 400 clients over the years. “I don’t keep a tally, but that’s my guess,” she explained.
For her services, Kaly charges £250 ($344) for an hour-long session, which can increase to £1,250 ($1,700) for a five-hour session.
She starts her process with a free "exploratory" Zoom call with clients to ensure they understand what they are asking for and that she is comfortable working with them.
"There is no guarantee I will agree to take on a client and I have turned people away, including a man who joined the Zoom call naked," she told Daily Mail. "Once I have agreed to work with someone, the progress is based on the individual, though I like to have a minimum of three Zoom calls before meeting in person."
"I always meet clients at a hotel. They pay for all travel and accommodation, but I choose the venue, one that feels safe and professional. I always use condoms, everyone must provide a recent, clear STI test and complete consent forms."
"My safety is paramount: I have a tracking device on my phone and always check in with a friend or family member when I get home," she added.
Support from Family and Personal Life
Despite the unusual nature of her work, Kaly says her family is incredibly supportive.
"My kids and my parents are my number one fans," she shared. “My mum’s reaction when I explained to them what I was working as was, ‘I think I would be a really good surrogate partner!’”
Kaly has also been open about the fact that she had a partner when she started this career, and despite the challenges of her job, there is no jealousy in her relationship. She said, "They cannot question what I’m doing" because "my journey is their journey".
