A TikToker claims he can tell whether someone’s a Boomer, Millennial, or Generation Z solely based on how they type.

Tyler Morgan, who goes by the handle @hitomidocameraroll, is a verified user who shows hidden features on iPhones and Androids.

He shared a recent video revealing the different ways people type on their devices, which he claims is an indicator of age.

“This is how you can tell someone’s age by how they type on their phone,” Morgan said at the beginning of his TikTok.

Watch Morgan's TikTok below:

According to Morgan, anyone who’s “using swipe to text” is most likely a Millennial - those born roughly between 1981 and 1996.

If you can quickly and accurately type with only one hand, using only the thumb, then the TikToker assumes the person is Gen Z, defined as those born between 1997 and 2012.

If the same quickness and accuracy can be done with two thumbs, then Morgan assumes the person would be preteen to mid-20s, as well as “mid-30s even”.

He then notes that people type by tapping with their two thumbs until they reach their 50s - known as Gen X, born from 1965 to 1980 - which is when they start incorporating their index finger.

Then, when people reach age 65, Morgan claims that they will start to hold their devices with their non-dominant hand and type using only their index finger.

Morgan’s clip amassed 2.7 million likes and garnered thousands of comments from people revealing what method they use.

"Swipe to text is actually fun," one user said, while another chimed in: "Swipe to text is great because it’s not so rough on the thumbs and is helpful in the long run re carpal tunnel but usually I type with two thumbs (am 30) my hand is too small for one-handed typing lol."

A third said: "I’m a double thumb fast typer it’s just the easiest."

Other people shared that they used a mix of texting methods depending on how they were feeling that day.

“I do all of those and I’m in my early 30s. It just depends on what I’m doing, how I’m holding my phone, and if I care to respond quickly or not,” someone explained.

A second person shared: “39- older Millennial: I use 2 thumbs or swipe. I can type pretty well with single thumb. I am also fine with the wide screen you mentioned at the end..."
