While I don't mind a bit of competitive sport every once in a while, man, is it super boring to watch sports on television. Whether you're talking about the World Cup Final or the Super Bowl or the 400m Freestyle at the Olympics, I love the idea of watching sporting history unfold, but in practice, I'd rather watch anything else.
"Oooh, look, it's Michael Phelps, splashing around in a swimming pool, strategically flailing his way to... gold, once again," I might shout, that pause in the middle denoting when I have most likely fallen asleep. Look, sporting achievements are really great, but... don't make me watch cricket on TV again. Please.
I'm sure I've offended pretty much all sports fans by now, so I'm going to go ahead and double down. Baseball comes under the same boring umbrella - even more so, in my opinion. But, Taco Bell have found a way to make watching sports a little less boring with their latest promotions for Doritos Locos Tacos - where you can get 'em for free.
Interested? Course you are. Let's dive right in, shall we?

Okay, now how many of you are familiar with the concept of stealing a base in the game of baseball? The Steal A Base, Steal a Taco scheme at Taco Bell has been running for a number of years, and it's pretty simple to understand; whenever a baseball player steals a base during the World Series, you get a free Doritos Locos Taco.
A Doritos Locos Taco, you ask? What, you've never had a Doritos Locos Taco? I mean, if you love tacos and Doritos, you really should: it's a taco with Doritos making up the shell. That sounds awesome, doesn't it? And although the World Series ended earlier this week with the Boston Red Sox beating the LA Dodgers to take home the title, you can keep the spirit of baseball alive by eating some free tacos, come November 1. So... today!

Between the hours of two and six o'clock this afternoon, you can head to any Taco Bell around the country for your fix of tacos - and because Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts stole a base in the World Series - it's free tacos for all for those four hours! Plus, if you're registered on the Taco Bell app or on their website, then you can even redeem that taco online! Technology is pretty great, isn't it?
Funnily enough, this is actually the fourth year in a row that a base has been stolen in the World Series - so the fourth year running that America has scored free tacos from Taco Bell. Last year, it was Cameron Maybin who stole a base in the 11th inning of the second game of the series.

So today, as you head to Taco Bell to enjoy your free tacos, be sure to thank Mookie Betts for effectively paying for your dinner.

If you've got plans today, throw them in the garbage. I don't care if you're a bride preparing for your wedding, a driver with a school bus full of kindergartners or a cardiothoracic surgeon performing surgical ventricular restoration - drop all that nonsense immediately. Taco Bell is giving out free Doritos Locos tacos!
That's right, visit any nationwide Taco Bell between 2pm and 6pm on Tuesday and you can pick up a free Doritos Locos Taco. Of course, there's a catch. In order to get the free taco, you'll have to score at least a B+ on a 500-question exam about the history Mexican food. Just kidding. There's no catch. Go get your free taco, dummy!

If you're wondering why Taco Bell is running this promotion, and I know you're not, it's related to those tall guys that throw orange balls in hoops on the teevee that people get so excited about.
For four years in a row, Taco Bell has promised that if a team "steals" a game in the NBA finals by winning on their opponents home turf, customers can steal a taco. This year The Golden State Warriors accomplished that feat by defeating the Toronto Raptors during Game 2 of the Finals. Hooray for sports!
For those of you went hiking in Alaska's Tongass National Forest in February 2012, got lost in the 17 million acres of ancient forest, glaciers and mountains, just now found your way out of the sprawling wilderness and re-entered civilization, Taco Bell teamed up with Frito Lay in March 2012 to create Doritos Tacos Locos. The shells are made out of Dorito's Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch or Fiery tortilla chips!
While the precise origin of the taco is unknown, University of Minnesota researcher Jeffrey M. Pilcher states that the oldest table of the oldest table of nixtamal - limed kernels of corn that is ready to be ground into masa - was found in in Soconusco, Chiapas in 1,500 BC, and holy crap are you still reading this? Go get your free taco!

There's something uniquely thrilling about going to see a live sports event. Sure, it's fun to kick back with a beer and watch a football game with some friends at home - but nothing compares to being in the crowd at the Superbowl, or cheering on the tennis stars at Wimbledon, or - if you're lucky enough - catching a foul ball at a baseball game.
Gabby DiMarco, a Padres fan from San Diego, knows exactly what this last thing feels like, as she managed to catch a stray ball on Tuesday night. Well, we say she caught it, but it was her beer that did most of the work.
[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/Jim_Powell/status/1004207798756896768]]
DiMarco was enjoying the game at Petco Park earlier this week when the Braves batter, Ender Inciarte, hit a foul ball behind him into the stands. The crowd watched with bated breath as it went up and up, then cheered as it came back down and landed - splash - right in DiMarco's drink.
"It bounced from behind me, I wasn't trying to catch it at all, and it landed in my cup," the baseball fan said.
As soon as she realised what had happened, the woman got up and began encouraging cheers from around her. Then, with all cameras focused on her, she downed the entire beverage with the ball still in the cup.

Unfortunately, the Braves ended up beating the Padres by a score of 14 to 1 - but we all know that there was really only one winner that day, and it was DiMarco.

Viewers of a live news report were treated to the hilarious moment a sneaky ice hockey fan steals an ice cream right out of the hand of an unsuspecting man.
The blink-and-you'll-miss-it act of theft took place in the background of a live Fox Sports broadcast of the Carolina Hurricanes’ 8-2 win against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
This is the moment an ice hockey fan is caught stealing ice cream on live TV:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/cUIAnIIS-Q0L14jDU.mp4||cUIAnIIS]]
The thief removes the ice cream and cone from its container, takes a lick and then appears to want to place the ice cream back in the hand of his oblivious fellow fan.
When the man realises the ice cream is gone, he looks around - evidently dumbfounded at the sight of the empty holder.
When some eagle-eyed viewers spotted the brazen ice hockey fan nabbing the tasty treat off his distracted 'victim', it started being shared on Twitter, where it has since garnered millions of views.
And of course, the people of the internet had plenty to say about the man at the centre of it all.
"That was so wrong! But I can’t stop laughing," one person tweeted alongside a laughing-crying emoji.
"This is hilarious, while also being nasty lol. Imagine that dude getting it back and taking a lick," wrote another.
"I just don’t know how you wouldn’t catch that before it was too late," a third chimed in. "Then again Canes fans are a breed of their own!"
A fair share of the commenters seemed to think the whole episode was too good to be true.
"That was a set up if I've ever seen one," one person wrote, while another simply wrote: "staged".
"That looks so staged but still funny," a third added.
In any case, the thief has since been identified as Weston Davis, who insists that it wasn't a stunt while admitting that the other guy is, in fact, a friend of his called Joe Campen.
Speaking to The Athletic, Mr Davis said: "Joe and I are good friends. He was standing there behind the camera and I just thought I'd mess with him hoping maybe the camera would get a shot of it."

The news that two of your favorite things are finally joining forces is always exciting. Whether it’s Batman and Superman, Alien and Predator, or chocolate and pizza, the anticipation of what could be great is ultimately worth it, even if the end result is usually crushingly disappointing. Now, it’s time to get excited all over again for something that, if it comes off, could make all your wildest foodie fantasies come true.

Apparently inspired by one of their closest fast-food rivals, KFC has decided to unveil a revolutionary new approach to fried chicken. Instead of serving the Colonel’s finger-lickin' food in its customary bucket or burger bap, KFC France has taken a leaf out of the Taco Bell cookbook and wrapped their chicken in a crispy taco shell. On paper, it sounds like one of the most exciting concepts to ever come out of a fast-food kitchen.

Currently only available in Europe, the crispy Double Tacos have still set tongues wagging. On the surface, they look to most closely resemble Taco Bell’s legendary Cheesy Gordita Crunch wraps, since each utilise both a hard and soft shell tortilla. However, in the KFC iteration, the shells appear to be separated by a layer of tangy tomato salsa, rather than Taco Bell’s signature cheese.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/B0EFv6VF2zh/]]
Though the new release stops short of being a full-blown, official collaboration, it shouldn’t come as any great surprise to learn that KFC is copying Taco Bell. Both franchises are actually owned by the same corporation, American-based Yum! Brands, who are generally considered to be the most powerful fast food group on the planet. Given that Taco Bell and KFC both fight under the same banners, it’s almost more surprising that the two don’t team up more often.

While the news that KFC could be about to branch into the taco business is certainly headline worthy, it isn’t the only tangent that French fried chicken cooks are apparently interested in exploring. In addition to the new Double Tacos, KFC France have also released a limited-edition fried chicken “hot dog”, featuring American cheese, jalapenos, hot sauce, and mustard. While it remains to be seen whether either of these creations ultimately gets the green light for a global release, it certainly seems to be an exciting time for eccentric fast-food fans.

What problems are there in life that a simple trip to Taco Bell can't fix? Uh... other than your fast food addiction. That doesn't count. Mexican food is one of life's underrated pleasures, and if you like meat, cheese and tangy sauces (like any self-respecting person), then why not head down to Taco Bell?
But in this and any other loving relationship, you've got to spice things up once in a while. In your personal life, that might committing to a date night once a week or trying out a new activity together. When it comes to your passionate tryst with Taco Bell, however, it's best to take that literally.

Ever had a Quesarito? No? Then I suggest you go out there and try one. Right now. You have internet on your phone, right? Okay, now make sure you take your phone with you so I can continue to talk to you about Taco Bell. Try not to get sauce on your mobile device, okay?
Mmmm. As far as burritos go, it's delicious, right? Rice, beef, sour cream, cheese and red tortilla strips are all great, aren't they? Now imagine how perfect it would be if you could have some hot sauce with that. But not just any hot sauce, folks; Taco Bell are testing out Quesaritos with Carolina Reaper hot sauce.
Yes, Carolina Reapers. As in, hottest chili pepper in the world, Carolina Reapers. So hot, they make Shaquille O'Neal run from studio sets in tears with just a single dusted tortilla chip, searching desperately for the nearest bottle of water. So hot, they make the Red Hot Chili Peppers look like a bunch of middle-aged, milquetoast musicians, phoning it in, desperately past their prime.
(Okay, so that last one isn't actually that hard to do.)
[[youtubewidget||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0oIoR9mLwc]]
But the fact remains: after a cleverly cautious test on their nascent loaded french fries, Taco Bell were confident they could bring their red-hot chili sauce to a different type of food, and with their Quesaritos, they've started at a good place.
Now, whenever you get a Quesarito, you have the option of blending in the hot sauce in with your queso, and trust me: you're going to want to do that. At 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), there's literally nothing spicier than the Carolina Reaper, and the creamy cheese will stop you from burning your mouth to a crisp, while letting you enjoy the intense flavour that comes with that extra dose of capsaicin.
Sounds delicious, doesn't it? Well, my Taco Bell loving friends, you too can soon get your hands on an extra spicy Quesarito. Not quite yet, folks, but soon; they should be available on your Taco Bell menu come mid-November, when you can pick up an extra-spicy Quesarito.
They're not too shabby on price, either; you can pick one up on its own for $2.99, or if you feel like a bigger meal, you can get them as part of a $5 combo box with two Crunchy Tacos and a medium drink. Get in my belly. Muy caliente.
