A woman has gone viral on social media after calling on airlines to offer child-free flights after sitting through a three-hour plane journey in front of a crying youngster.
Morgan Lee - who goes by the handle @mooorganic on TikTok - made the suggestion in a video she posted last week where a child's scream could be heard throughout.
"Why isn’t there such a thing as adult-only flights? I would pay so much money [for that]," she wrote in the overlay text of the video, which as of this writing, has over 55,600 likes and has been viewed almost 700,000 times.
The TikToker further elaborated to her followers in her comment section that despite using noise-canceling headphones throughout the three-hour duration of her flight, she still listened to the cries. Additionally, she claimed that the upset child was kicking her chair.
Check out Morgan's TikTok below:"I have noise canceling headphones, the child was WELL over 5 years old, and they sat directly behind me while kicking my chair as the mother slept," she wrote in a comment.
And it's safe to say that the post divided social media users.
Some parents did not entertain Lee's suggestion at all and slammed her for being inconsiderate of the hardships involved in parenting, with one user commenting: "This was harder for mom than it was for you."
Another commented that if she wants to pay "so much" for flights without children there was an easy, albeit not cheap, solution: "They do exist they are called private flights."
A third user said: "As a parent I 100% agree. I would love to be on an airplane and not get dirty looks or grunts from angry people that don’t like kids/noise."
A fourth user shared: "I don't have kids, but even I have the maturity and grace to accept my situation, especially when there are children involved."
However, some parents were more understanding in their responses and stated that they too would pay extra too to have some peace.
One parent wrote: "As a mom, I want an adult-only flight too," while another chimed in and said: "I am a mother and I agree! I would pay more for an adult-only flight. Why is everyone so pressed?? She isn’t suggesting to throw them off board."
And it seems like Lee's suggestion certainly isn't a new one. According to a 2017 survey published in Business Insider, some parents who took part believed that they should have to sit in a specified section for themselves and their children.
In 2019, Japan Airlines introduced seating with a little baby icon that will indicate to passengers which spaces will be occupied by an infant aged two or younger - allowing them to choose seats away from any potential noise (and smells).
Additionally, other International airlines such as AirAsia, IndiGo, Malaysia Airlines, and Scoot Airlines have also answered calls for child-free planes and introduced kid-free zones.

Social media users are clamoring for adults-only flights after one man shared his journey from hell.
The unfortunate passenger took to TikTok to explain how he spent a whopping 29 hours on a plane with a screaming child.
Unsurprisingly, the man's ordeal went viral and provoked the sympathy of many other users.
In the clip - which is sarcastically titled "Hey babe, how was your flight?" - TikToker and musician Balu Brigada charted his 29-hour journey to Berlin.
The video begins with a shot of Balu at the start of the flight. A child can be heard screaming at the top of their lungs while Balu's eye twitches nervously.
"Rate my 29-hour flight to Berlin," he writes in overlay text, adding: "Strong start. The kid's got some lungs. Great projection."
Watch the nightmarish video here:As the flight progresses, the child keeps screaming, and Balu's eye twitch gets progressively worse.
"A nice long one here," he writes as the child lets out a particularly impressive screech.
The video ends with the kid screaming even as the plane touches down. "Bring it on home now," Balu writes, adding bitterly: "Stellar performance, incredible stamina, 10/10."
Since being uploaded, the clip has racked up over 10.8 million views on TikTok and thousands of comments from people calling for "kid-free flights".
"Honestly there should be kid-free flights and kid flights," one person wrote, while another commented: "I would pay EXTRA for kids free flights."
Other people raged against the crying child's parents. "I’m not even angry at the kids, I’m so mad at the parents, how are they not able to control their own children? There are so many ways smh," one commented.
"As a parent: that's why I don't want to travel with my kid, I will just wait a couple of years," another wrote.
Meanwhile, some even found the clip terrifying enough to put them off having children altogether.
"I think my tubes just tied themselves," one commented. Another agreed: "Best birth control ever," while a third added: "My uterus just walked out! Bye."

Social media users are calling for child-free flights after a passenger recorded the incessant screams of a baby during his 29-hour journey.
A TikToker named Henry Beasley - who goes by the handle @balubrigada - shared a video two years ago about his long flight from New Zealand to Germany.
In the video, Beasley captured his bemused reactions as a baby continuously screamed in the background. He also added an overlay text that read: "Rate my 29-hour flight to Berlin."
As the grueling journey went on, the TikToker wryly noted the child "got some lungs" and had "great projection," and in a second clip, he quipped "nice long one here" amid the guttural screams.
Check out Beasley's TikTok below:
A tick begins to form in Beasley's left eye as he furiously chews gum amid the endless screaming which he also compares to the sound of a kettle boiling. He even rates the cries, including one with the caption "nice long one here, 100," and in the end, gave the child's "stellar performance" and "incredible stamina" a "10/10."
The distressing video amassed 14.5 million views and 2.8 million likes on the social media platform, with many people taking to the comment section to sympathize with Beasley.
One person quipped: "Oh lord, it’s the eye twitch for me. Thank god you’re okay," while another said: "29 hours of that? sounds like the kid is having a medical emergency."
A third user chimed in: "The reason why I waited till my kid was bigger before allowing her to go on flights. We gotta be considerate of others!! Tsk," and a fourth added: "The flight attendant should [intervene] and ask the parents to control their kid, the other passengers are paying to have good flight, it's unfair."
However, some users acknowledged how difficult it would be to parent a baby on a flight, with one person pointing out: "Oh man..but can you imagine being the parents trying to handle that? It’s mortifying, exhausting, mortifying, embarrassing….did I say mortifying?"

"Yes adult only flights please," someone on Facebook wrote. "I don’t pay for a flight to listen to kids screaming...and kicking the back of my chair for the entire flight and yes most times good parenting is an issue!"
A second user shared: "I think child-free flights should be an option...some children don't need to be around adults," while another added: "I do agree with the people saying that we should have flights where no kids under at least 10 should be [allowed]."
Child-free flights are a reality on some airlines. Credit: Susumu Yoshioka / GettyInterestingly, child-free flights are a reality on some airlines, with Turkish-owned Corendon Airlines being the latest to reveal it will have an adults-only zone in its planes, where passengers over the age of 16 can travel in peace.
Of course, such an upgrade doesn't come for free, but it's relatively cheap to get a seat in the adults-only section on their route on the 432-seat Airbus 350 from Amsterdam to Curaçao.
There will be 93 seats available in the zone at the front of the plane, which will be separated from the rest of the cabin by walls and curtains, and passengers will have to pay a reported €45 ($49) each way for the privilege of sitting there - which is pretty reasonable to ensure you get to relax on the 10-hour trip.
Atilay Uslu, the founder of Corendon, said in a statement: "Onboard our flights, we always strive to respond to the different needs of our customers," as cited by Business Insider.
"We also believe this can have a positive effect on parents traveling with small children. They can enjoy the flight without worrying if their children are making too much noise."
Malaysia's AirAsia, India's IndiGo, and Singapore's Scoot Airlines also offer child-free or "quiet" zones.

A woman has divided social media users over her laid-back reaction to a toddler hitting her arm on a flight.
Flights, especially long-haul ones, can be difficult for very young children. Toddlers are typically energetic, get bored easily, and have no qualms about throwing temper tantrums when things aren't quite going their way.
Let's face it, we've all been on a flight with mischievous children who just can't seem to sit still in their seats.
But one particular passenger has divided the internet with her reaction to a toddler who repeatedly tapped her on the arm.
Taking to TikTok in November 2020, the passenger in question, Kara, posted a video of the incident.
Check out the video here:In the short clip, Kara and a male friend can be seen laughing hysterically as a young child sitting behind them reaches round to tap Kara's arm.
Kara captioned the video: "Her name was Adeline and I hope her mom sees this."
Needless to say, plenty of people were overjoyed to see Kara's lighthearted reaction to the child's curiosity.
One person shared: "As a mom of a toddler and 4 year old, I THANK you for your reaction. It's always a relief when others are not bothered by crazy toddler actions."
Another said: "Love it! As a mom of grown kids, I'm so appreciative of your great attitude about this."
A third wrote alongside three red heart emojis: "You guys are too cool about this. I would've lost it. I need to learn from you saints!!!"
However, not everyone was so amused by the video and felt that it was an invasion of personal space.
One person said: "That's not funny."
Another said: "No thank you....let the parents know."
A different person wrote: "Touching strangers without their permission? Growing up to assault people. Ok."
A final commenter shared: "You guys have patience, I'd have whacked that hand away within seconds and she wouldn't have done it again."
How would you have reacted? Let us know in the comments!

A furious passenger had an irate outburst on a flight after listening to a baby cry for nearly an hour.
The viral incident was captured on board a Southwest Airlines flight to Florida and shared on TikTok with the overlay text that reads: "Stuck in a holding pattern for weather and an SWA passenger loses his mind over a baby."
The footage shows a man - who has not been identified in the clip - using profanities toward flight attendants and fellow passengers, to express his disdain at an infant crying.
"That child has been crying for 40 minutes! I had headphones on, I was sleeping," the upset man yelled to the workers who were attempting to calm him down.
Watch the video below:At one point, it seems one member of the flight crew had had enough and said: "You're yelling," to the angry man, to which he exclaims: "So is the baby!"
During his tirade he even screamed "Did that motherf***er pay extra to get on" towards the baby. The person next to him could be seen looking rather embarrassed before putting their head in their hands.
Upon seeing the clip, social media users did not side with the passenger, with many taking to the comments section to criticize his bad behavior.
One user wrote: "How do you think the baby’s parents feel? People need to get a grip, babies are a part of life. We were all babies once."
Another said: "This is so wild to me. I don’t have kids, but crying babies don’t trigger me the same way, so I can’t understand this response."
A third commented: "And…there’s NOTHING funny about this! Disgusting!"
A fourth user on Twitter shared: "If you can't handle the sound of a crying baby or toddler, maybe air travel or being in public isn't for you.
"Personally, I'd be embarrassed by my inability to cope with something so basic that happens all the time. But I just believe that's part of being a functioning adult."
Meanwhile, others were sympathetic to his eruption as one person penned: "Why should the rest of us have to be subjected to [the] c****y behavior of other people's kids? Honestly, if a kid can't behave on a flight, it doesn't belong on it. [Travel] is stressful enough without having to endure that kind of nerve-grating noise."
A second person remarked: "If you can't take care of your child in public then maybe you shouldn't be in public either. People without kids don't need to be subject to bad parenting. Esp when it was clear those parents could've stopped that kid since they shut up mid-rant."
A third user stated: "So lemme get this straight- 100+ people have to change the way THEY feel because one non-paying passenger is going to cry. Nah."
According to Today, a representative for Southwest Airlines responded to the viral video - which has 3.4 million views on Twitter - in a statement that reads:
"We do not have details on this flight to share but commend our flight crew for their professionalism and offer our apologies to the other customers onboard."

Traveling is exhausting for the best of us. However, those dealing with varying levels of exhaustion from their offspring can find taking holidays a little more tiresome. Basically, being a parent is hard work.
For one US family, the stress of long-haul flying seemed all too much as they allegedly allowed their toddler to run amok during the eight-hour journey.
One netizen was evidently so outraged at the behavior that they took to the r/PublicFreakout subreddit on Reddit - a thread boasting 4.3 million members dedicated to "people freaking out, melting down, losing their cool, or being weird in public."
The user, who goes by the Reddit handle readysetgorilla, posted a video to the subreddit of a toddler jumping up and down on a tray table behind another passenger's seat. The video had no caption and was just tagged with "Airport Freakout" and titled: "Letting children run wild during an eight-hour flight."
Despite only being posted to the subreddit three days ago, it already has 17,800 upvotes, and people in the comments are clearly not happy with the behavior, letting their opinions on the toddler's parents known.
"I would feel like a failed parent if my kids were doing this and I was just straight up allowing it," one person commented.
While another added: "Why is the guy just letting it happen? I would've said something," obviously in reference to the man whose seat was being vigorously shaken by the toddler jumping on the table tray attached to the back of his seat.
"I'm pretty non confrontational, but even I would stand up and say something," someone else wrote.
"The parent/guardian is a moron. Not only is this rude, it's f***ing dangerous," another comment read.
One user - who stated that they frequently fly for work - wrote a timeline of escalations on what happens during a flight if passengers are rude or difficult.
"Ask politely once. Beyond that, don't engage, call over the flight attendant. They will ask them to stop, and if they refuse they'll usually move you to an upgraded seat if available. If no seat is available and the aggressor keeps it up, they'll usually have an air marshall come over if one is available, but this is super rare," they wrote.
"If one isn't available, which is almost always the case, attendant will sometimes threaten speaking to the pilot which will lead to a premature landing depending on the severity of the incident... If it gets to that point the customer will be blacklisted and you'll get a complimentary upgraded flight. Usually the FA coming over is enough to put a stop to it," the comment concluded.
Many people also included their own parent horror stories, with one user even writing about a heavily intoxicated mother who passed out on her flight before take-off, leaving her baby unattended and toddler to run wild in the aisles. The incident allegedly concluded with the children's father appearing from the back of the plane and engaging in a shouting match with his wife.
What would you do in this situation? Let us know in the comments!
