A woman has taken to Facebook to share her ingenious hack for reducing milk waste during self-isolation.

This is especially useful as the surge in panic buying caused by the global pandemic has led to a shortage of essential items like tinned food, bread, toilet roll, and milk.

Not only that but various governments, such as the UK, have introduced lockdown rules stating that members of the public must only leave their homes for essential items. In addition, many supermarkets have set a limit on how many of each product a person can buy.

As a result, reducing food waste has never been more critical or vital to our day-to-day lives, which is why Danielle Chapman's hack is so ingenious.

Sharing a picture of milk frozen into an ice cube tray, she wrote: "If this helps any of our local elderly residents then please share away.

"Freeze milk in ice cube trays, one is enough for a cup of tea or coffee.

"So you don't have to defrost a full bottle of milk which may go to waste - "

I personally have been WASTING milk in my coffees, unintentionally using far too much per cup, so this is something I personally will be trying at home.

Chapman's hack clearly resonated with a lot of people on the social media website, and at the time of writing, it has been shared over 40K times and received over 1.5K likes.

This comes as a number of people have decided to help out the key workers who are delivery drivers by gifting them boxes of essential items so that they can keep working effectively during the pandemic.

One commentator on the Facebook post described the hack as "really clever" and we have to agree.
