During the coronavirus pandemic, essential workers are putting their lives on the line to help society continue to function with some semblance of normality. Now, people are leaving out essential items for delivery drivers to say thank you.

And one driver has taken to Instagram to show his appreciation for the gesture, especially as panic buying has caused a shortage of essential goods like tinned food, cleaning products, and toilet roll.

The gesture was also shared in a now-viral TikTok video:

The video above was reposted to Twitter on March 23 by a user who wrote: "I'm going to cry". At the time of writing, it has been liked over 305K times.

Meanwhile, in another post on Instagram, a driver called @drtyoda shared a picture of an offering, writing: "Thank you for being committed to the human race, we are depending on you! Take anything you want! Spread love! Stronger TOGETHER."

In the caption @drtyoda, said that humanity needs "more of this", writing: "So. I'm a courier. I deliver to so many types of places everyday. Businesses, houses, apartments, hospitals, you name it, I'll deliver. This house I just left had this box on the porch. So thoughtful. So caring."

They wrote: "In a time when people are panicking and hoarding everything for no really good reason, these people are willingly giving it away.

"We need waaaaay more of this. Everyone needs to see this."

"PS, I didn't need anything, so I didn't take anything. That's how we also need to be."

These are not the only random acts of kindness that have emerged during this difficult time. A neighborhood in England came together to sing Happy Birthday for an eight-year-old girl who was unable to have a party because of the pandemic.
