Thankfully, in my short time on this planet, I haven't had to deal with much grief and upset. However, some people have, and they channel their emotions through different means and avenues. For some, if they're sad after the death of a loved one, they will disappear for a while and take time out to reflect and enjoy some time alone. For others, however, they find comfort in the company of other people - even if it's online.
Take social media, for example. Often, when a loved one passes away, we see people take to their Facebook or Instagram to post a heartfelt and emotional tribute to that person. Whether it's a grandma, brother, or even a dog - the poster takes heart in the responses of well-wishers and tributes alike.
However, while pictures of holding hands or nostalgic childhood photos are commonplace in these tributes, actual photos of dead bodies are not... and for good reason.
Let's face it, when we log onto Instagram or Facebook, we're either there to stalk to lives of people from school, or to look at aesthetically pleasing things like sneakers, house plants and amazing holiday destinations. But, one Serbian model had other ideas.
Jelica Ljubicic, a singer and model from Serbia, posted a picture on her Instagram story where she can be seen posing for the camera while her father lays dead behind her.
Jelica's dad's head had fallen to one side, with local media reporting that he had died shortly before the picture was taken.
Understandably, Jelica received a huge backlash from followers who were baffled by the upload. However, before deleting the image - and her account - Jelica had issued a heartfelt tribute to her father.
Ljubicic wrote in the caption:
"We have fought as much as we can, but it is not our will. We don't decide how long we will live. He left us in the 67th year of life. Thank you for everything, I am grateful for being your daughter, and having you as my father.
"Thank you for bringing us to the right path. Rest in peace, you will always stay in our hearts."
Despite her heartfelt message, people were left creeped out by the photo and took to Jelica's profile to publicly criticise the image.
Rile commented: "This is how much she cares for her father she has the time and strength to take photos."
And Magdalena added: "Only a sick person can do this."
Nada wrote: "I can’t believe what am I reading and seeing. No, there is no hope for this world."
As mentioned, Jelica has now removed both the image and her profile from the internet as a result of the backlash.
While her intentions may have been to simply issue a heartfelt message to her late father, Jelica's choice of pose in front of his dead body was always going to garner a lot of attention and criticism.

Life sure is hard for those who have won the genetic lottery. You know, with their killer good looks and enviable physique, they face a lot of problems on a daily basis. I mean, who can deal with having their friends, colleagues and family members constantly reminding them of how beautiful they are?
Now, while this is certainly the life that one age-defying grandmother leads, Gina Stewart is also committed to utilising her looks for a good cause. The model, who has four children, has been knocking out hundreds of women half her age for the title of Miss Maxim 2018. And with her glowing complexion and generally youthful appearance, people were nonplussed to discover just how old she really is...

The Aussie is one of the finalists in the running for this year's Miss Maxim competition. And while she has four children (two sons and two daughters, respectively aged 4, 23, 25 and 27) as well as a 10-month-year-old granddaughter, she doesn't look her age at all. Yes, Gina - who has over 42,000 followers on Instagram - is 47-years-old.
The model, who became a grandmother last year, has now revealed the "secrets" to her ageless complexion. "The only cosmetic procedure I had was my breasts 10 years ago. I don't use Botox or fillers as I believe in ageing gracefully," she told Daily Mail Australia.
"But seriously, there's no secret. I think everyone is beautiful. I'm not doing this for attention as I hate it. I'm just trying to make a difference to inspire women not to rip each other apart."
"Life is too short for judgement. Embrace your age and your curves, it never killed anyone," she added.

Gina is competing for the title of Miss Maxim 2018 for a great reason. She revealed that if she wins, she will donate the $10,000 prize money to a friend who recently suffered a stroke. "I'm only hoping to win to help my best friend of 30 years as she's had a stroke," she asserted. "If I win Maxim, I would be donating to her to help with her recovery. I'm just hoping to raise awareness for stroke victims."
When quizzed on where she draws her inspiration from, Gina revealed that much of it comes from the friend in question. "People who still have the strength to keep going and be positive even after going through hard times. People that never give up really I find the most inspirational." She added that she also has great respect for "people who do what they say they are going to do."

Looks certainly don't mean everything to the single mother. On her Maxim profile, Gina listed that her "best features" include her "sense of humour", how much she "cares about people, friends and family", as well as her laugh.
She also revealed that she's quite the foodie. When asked what she'd do if she could rule the world for a day, she replied that she would "Make it so that Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Nutella would all have zero calories" - I mean, we're with you there girl.

We certainly wish Gina all the best for the competition, but either way, it's evident that she's doing pretty great already.
In other news, people are falling desperately in love with this blogger's photo of her rolls.

A fitness influencer has defended herself following backlash after she posed in a bikini in front of her 15-year-old son.
Sophie Guidolin, a prominent figure in the fitness community, is no stranger to sharing candid snaps of herself showing off her impressive physique.
In the post that sparked backlash, Guidolin titled the video: "POV: Your mama is an IFBB Bikini Pro."
The video was accompanied by a caption addressing previous criticism Guidolin has faced for wearing bikinis in front of her son.
"Lol remember when the media tried to shame me for wearing a bikini in front of my son… forgetting I was an #ifbbbikinipro and I do this as a sport," she wrote. "My son doesn’t sexualize my body so why do others. This my friends is 13 years of hard work."
Predictably, reactions to the video were varied.
One person said: "Your son is clearly very inspired by you. Why do people have to make it weird when it’s obviously not," while a second supporter said: "All I can see is hard work and dedication. Your son would be proud."
A third reacted: "Creepy. I feel sorry for you and your son," while another critic added: "I promise you it’s weird… the last thing I’d want to see is my mom in a thong.. let alone doing it to post on social media saying how I’m ok with it and all my friends see it.. creepy."
Guidolin, a 34-year-old mother of four and founder of the online health and fitness program, The Bod, has long been committed to empowering women in their fitness journeys.
Despite the occasional backlash, she remains committed to her mission to promote body positivity and self-confidence.
"WE LIVE IN THE GOLD COAST, Australia. Where wearing a bikini to the beach is so beyond normal, that I didn’t even consider having to place a disclaimer on this photo," Guidolin captioned a post, as per News.com.au.
"When Kai woke up, I was in the pool and yes- in a bikini (as I am most days). I wanted a photo straight away as he wanted to ride his bike and go out riding all day immediately.
“Do I have a problem wearing a bikini in front of my sons? NO WAY. Why? Because I’m not sexualized to him, nor have I ever been. If you have an issue, maybe you should look into why you feel you have to sexualize a woman’s body instead of it simply being a mum and her son at the pool!"
Addressing the backlash in another Instagram story, the influencer explained: "Guys, I just sat down with Kai. He just came back from bike riding and I was like, 'Mate, did you ever find a problem with my post this morning?' And he’s like, 'For real what?' And I was like, 'Because I was in a bikini' – and his response was, 'You’re always in a bikini.'"
She went on: "I would like to normalize the narrative of our bodies being simply that and it not being sexualized. There is nothing sexualized about that photo. I would often hug him, cuddle him, snuggle him in bed. I’m very close with the boys, I don’t see anything wrong with that."

It's a fact that beauty pageants are pretty damn divisive. Some people see them as just being harmless good fun and a competitive activity that encourages people to be their best selves, while others regard them as being sexist and patronising festivals that only serve to objectify women. Even more controversial are child beauty pageants, in which kids compete in tournaments, wearing costumes and performing for adults, so we can determine which one is the cutest. Many people, especially viewers of the infamous TLC reality TV show Toddlers in Tiaras, love child beauty pageants, while others find them weird, gross, and think they sexualise children.
But one pageant mom who might have arguably taken things way too far is 28-year-old Sami Bushell. Sami, who hails from Doncaster in England, has gotten a lot of flak for her parenting since she loves to beautify her five-year-old daughter Hallie Mai with expensive clothes, fake tan and makeup. Although many have criticised her for making her daughter wear cosmetics, Sami thinks that it is her right as a mother, and she claims that she has no intention of heeding her detractors.
[[youtubewidget||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVbcNLn_lEo]]
Sami claims that, from an early age, her daughter turned her nose up and plain clothes like jeans and t-shirts, and prefers a bit more elegance. Now Sami spends more than $6,000 a year on glamorous outfits, which includes a Louis Vuitton handbag and Ralph Lauren tops.
Commenting on her daughter's glamorous life, Sami stated: "Everything is very skimpy and over the top. It’s very blingy and glitzy, but pageants are a controlled environment. It’s not like anyone can just walk in and sit and watch. It’s all innocent fun. When people ask me about pageants, some turn their nose up and start being funny. They think I parade Hallie Mai in skimpy outfits and fake tan and give her fake hair."
She added: "I say to the negative people that Hallie Mai loves pageants and she loves the tan, makeup and outfits and she’s very strong-willed. If she didn’t want to do it she’d run off stage. I don’t force her – she goes on her own and loves it ... She’s not your typical pageant girl. If she doesn’t want to do it she will kick off. We get stick, but it’s part of pageant life. Hallie loves it, she loves getting crowns and medals. I do what I want and if people don’t like it they don’t have to look."

Okay, so I don't personally agree that daubing your preschooler daughter in makeup and making her strut on a catwalk is necessarily a good idea, but there's not a lot that anyone can do about it. Although I don't think that Sami is going any harm, and it's not polite to tell people how to raise their kids, I'm pretty sure that this whole thing is going to be pretty awkward when Hallie Mai is older.

Striking model Sophia Hadjipanteli has well and truly made her mark on Instagram. With a current follower count of 292k, the Cypriot model is set to become one of the photo-sharing app's most recognisable faces.
Hadjipanteli began attracting a great deal of attention in 2017 and early 2018 when her efforts in the "Unibrow Movement" started hitting headlines. As self-proclaimed founder of the movement, Hadjipanteli dedicates much of her time to encouraging young women to be comfortable in their own skin - facial hair and all.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BuGyOlfB6To/]]
Unfortunately, given that the message of loving yourself for what you are is a radical one amongst internet trolls, Hadjipanteli receives a lot of hateful comments on her posts. In fact, in a recent interview on UK breakfast show Good Morning Britain, she revealed that she struggles to avoid the negative comments.
This is the moment the outspoken influencer spoke with Piers Morgan about the death threats she receives because of her looks:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/stSFcHZ4-Q0L14jDU.mp4||stSFcHZ4]]
"I get a lot of death threats funnily enough, I guess it’s not that funny," she revealed to Piers Morgan and his stunned co-host Susanna Reid. "I definitely get a lot of negative reactions, I’m not going to sit here and say a lot of them are positive because that’s obviously not the case. Most are negative."
"It’s disgusting but then you think how is it that somewhere somebody has been told that it’s so unacceptable to look the way I do that it infuriates them to the point where they have to threaten my life," she continued.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/Buwa8JxhjKP/]]
"I think it has to do with this ongoing conversation that we are being brought up in a society that not only favourites but encourages people to go down one road. It’s quite a strongly paved road."
A number of viewers took to Twitter to express their thoughts on Hadjipanteli's unfortunate Instagram experience:

While Morgan slammed the hateful comments, referring to the model as "beguiling", Hadjipanteli admitted that she lacks the patience to report them.
