Footage has emerged of a white woman calling the police on a black woman in New York City.

The woman, believed to be a socialite in the New York City and Hamptons circuit, was recorded calling the police on a black woman on the Upper West Side, for seemingly sitting in a public area.

Instagram user, @_brownsugarbaby uploaded the videos of her exchange with Flom, who reportedly co-owns Maison Vivienne, a French restaurant with locations in Southampton and the Upper East Side, and a now-defunct lifestyle blog, Art de Fete.

Watch the footage below:

Flom, who is heavily pregnant, can be seen telling law enforcement officials on the phone that the black woman was "playing the black card" and "attacking her". According to the Instagram user who uploaded the series of clips, The woman approached her because she was "alarmed" by the fact that she was "sitting comfortably in her neighborhood."

The Black woman was purportedly sitting on a bench in a public outdoor area, before she was interrupted by the New York socialite.

In the footage, a man, who the African-American woman identified as the white woman's husband, can be seen walking away from the exchange. The incident allegedly lasted for over an hour, and the woman in question can be seen calling the police several times.

"From 6:15pm - 7:31pm this [woman] felt the need to not only approach me but call the cops MULTIPLE TIMES ON ME!!," the Instagram user captioned the post.

"She was too “Alarmed” that I was sitting “comfortably” in “her neighborhood!” The first call was because she THOUGHT I was smoking in public.. but by the 3rd call, it was bcuz I was “threatening her & her children !!” While giving my description, she exaggerated her story & made it seem like I was the aggressor. “THIS AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN IS ATTACKING ME AND MY CHILDREN!” She had tears that were off & on & she stated things like “She’s pulling the black card!” Then wanted me to walk to the boys w/ her [...] I probably could have just walked away!! I probably should have kept my mouth shut right ?! NAHHH!! I couldn’t understand why she was so mad ! Like ummmm first of alllll I pay alllll mine over here Miss Lady !! [...] How you come over here just feeling sooooo privileged & soooo comfortable enough to tell me I should leave ?! You’re buggin !! NOT THIS ONE!! She wanted to be a victim soooo bad!! NOT ONE PERSON CAME TO HER AID!! MULTIPLE PPL witnessed the ordeal & just wanted to make sure I was ok! SHARE THESE VIDEOS AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE !! [sic]."

Ultimately, the police appeared on the scene, and decided not to escalate the situation.

In the comments section of her post, the Instagram user said that one officer just walked off from her, while another informed the caller that there was nothing to be done.

This comes after the death of George Floyd, an African-American man, who was arrested by Minneapolis police on Monday, May 25th, for reportedly using a counterfeit $20 note in a store. While being detained, Derek Chauvin - a 19 year veteran of the force - knelt on his neck for eight minutes, which resulted in him losing consciousness, and later passing away.

Protests, both peaceful and violent, have since broken out across the country, with people calling for the end of police brutality, and racial injustice in America and the western world writ large.
