An alleged murderer who appeared on an episode of Family Feud made an uncomfortable joke about his wife while appearing on the show.

Timothy Bliefnick, a former contestant of the famous family game show, was recently charged with killing his estranged wife at her home in Quincy, Illinois.

Three years ago, the suspect appeared on an episode of Family Feud alongside his siblings where he cracked a seemingly innocent joke about saying "I do" to his wife.

Bliefnick had a sneaky grin on his face as he delivered his answer to Steve Harvey’s question: "What’s the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?"

"Honey, I love you, but [saying] 'I do,'" Bliefnick responded on the episode which was taped in 2019 and aired later in 2020, according to files at ABC.

Both the audience and rival team gasped at Bliefnick’s answer and his delivery, a clip of the segment shows.

Bliefnick’s own family laughed at his answer, while Harvey maintained a grim stare at the player.

"Not my mistake! Not my mistake! I love my wife," back peddled Bliefnick, who sported more of a clean-cut look back then. "I’m going to get in trouble for that aren’t I?"

According to a report published by Muddy River News, Bliefnick, who went by 'Tim' on the show, is suspected of breaking into Rebecca Bleifnick's home situated on Kentucky Road home on February 23 and shooting her to death.

When Rebecca failed to turn up to pick her children up from school, an investigation into the matter led to the discovery of her body laying in the pair's home.

Police Chief Adam Yates confirmed the news of the brutal death before adding that initially no one was arrested as a suspect at the time of the search.

The report stated: "Bliefnick was cooperative with police when stopped. He stepped out of the car and was involved in conversations with multiple officers. He provided them the keys to his house as well as his car."

At the time, Bliefnick’s attorney, Casey Schnack, issued a statement on her client’s behalf.

"Given the circumstances, it is not surprising that the search warrant was issued and executed," Schnack said. "My only surprise is that it took this long to do. It is just as important that QPD conduct such an investigation to rule Tim OUT as a suspect so that investigative efforts can be spent elsewhere."

However, he was soon arrested after evidence alleged he played a part in the 41-year-old nurse's murder.

Rebecca's death has now been ruled a homicide.

As per the New York Post, Bliefnick and his wife had got married in 2009 but had been separated for several years before going through divorce proceedings which have been ongoing since February 2021.

The mom-of-three had also filed a restraining order against Bliefnick and his father.

The suspect is being held at the Adams County Jail on a no-bond warrant.
