Amber Heard has reportedly cut ties with her PR team just days before she is set to take the stand and testify in her defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

As reported by NBC News, 36-year-old Heard had been working with PR firm Precision Strategies - which was co-founded by the former deputy campaign manager for President Barack Obama's successful 2012 re-election campaign.

However, NBC News has confirmed that the Aquaman star cut ties with the East Coast firm on Thursday (April 28), as she prepares to deliver her testimony this coming Wednesday.

Heard's ex-husband, 56-year-old actor Johnny Depp, is suing the Pineapple Express star for $50 million after she referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" in a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post. Depp has repeatedly denied the allegations that he was physically violent toward his ex-wife.

Heard is countersuing for $100 million - claiming she was only ever violent against Depp in self-defense or defense of her younger sister, per NBC News.

The actor has since acquired a new crisis management firm - Beverly Hills-based The Management Group - as confirmed to NBC by the company's CEO, David Shane.

The news that Heard had dropped Precision Strategies was first reported by the New York Post, with a source telling the outlet that the actor "doesn't like bad headlines" and that she felt "frustrated with her story not being told effectively".

Depp took to the stand on April 19 and has since made international headlines thanks to his account of his relationship with Heard.

Since then, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has revealed that his own daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, did not attend his wedding to Heard because she was "not on particularly great terms" with the bride.

The Edward Scissorhands actor has also claimed that Heard severed the tip of his finger after she allegedly threw a glass vodka bottle at him and when asked in court if he was a victim of domestic abuse, Depp answered: "Yes, I am."

It is believed that Heard's team will take the legal stage on Tuesday, with the Aquaman star expected to testify the following day.
