Britney Spears has announced her engagement to Sam Asghari.

As reported by BBC News, both the 39-year-old popstar and the 27-year-old actor and a fitness trainer shared the happy news on social media.

The chart-topper announced the engagement with her 34 million Instagram followers, sharing a sweet video of the pair as Britney repeatedly flashes her engagement ring and gives Asghari a kiss on the cheek.

She captioned the post: "I can’t f***ing believe it".

In less than 10 hours, the post has already amassed nearly 2.5 million likes, as well as receiving over 80,000 comments from adoring well-wishers.

For example, socialite-turned-businesswoman Paris Hilton commented on the post, writing: "Congratulations love!! So happy for you! Welcome to the club!"

Asghari also shared a heartwarming photo of the happy couple sharing a kiss as Britney flashed her ring finger to the camera:

However, on Britney's post, there were also many comments from people calling for the 'Womanizer' singer to make sure they sign a prenup.

The charge was led by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, who simply commented: "Make him sign a prenup."

And the prenup comments just continued to roll in, with some taking the time to include the advice alongside their congratulations:

Meanwhile, other Instagram users were pretty blunt about it:

The news comes less than a week after Britney's father, Jamie Spears, formally filed to end the 13-year conservatorship that has seen him oversee his daughter's life and finances.

Per NBC News, the 69-year-old's petition to the Los Angeles County Superior Court states that Britney "is entitled to have this Court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required."

Referring to Britney's ongoing legal battle to have her father removed from what she has described as an "abusive" conservatorship, Jamie's petition adds:

"Recent events related to this conservatorship have called into question whether circumstances have changed to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist."

"If Ms Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr Spears believes that she should get that chance," the filing adds.

Back in July, the 39-year-old singer told Judge Brenda Penny: "This conservatorship is literally allowing my dad to rule my life… that is abuse, and we all know it. I’m angry, and I will go there."

Spears and Asghari first met on the set of a music video back in 2016.

Asghari's manager, Brandon Cohen, told PEOPLE in a statement: "The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them."
