Cindy Crawford’s heartbreaking message to son Presley Gerber just two months before his tragic death at 27
Just two months before the tragic death of her son, aged just 27, supermodel Cindy Crawford shared a tear-jerking message wishing her “little boy” a happy birthday.
On Sunday, September 20, Presley Gerber, who had battled addiction for years, passed away at an unknown rehab centre.
Cindy called her late son her "little boy"
In July, his A-list mom, Cindy, shared a sweet birthday message with pictures of her only son when he was much younger. The caption read: “Happy birthday I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy! Love you.”
Presley was the only son of Cindy, 69, and her businessman husband, Rande Gerber, and the older brother of model-actor Kaia Gerber.
After Presley publicly announced four months ago that he was undergoing treatment for addiction, Cindy labelled her son as a “warrior”.
In the social media announcement, Presley announced he had “faced” what he was running from and was “finding” his “way back”.
In the comment section, his mom Cindy commented: “You are a warrior! Walked thru fire to find yourself! So proud!”
Saturday Night star and global supermodel sister, Kaia, added: “That’s my brother I am so damn proud.”
His dad, founder of Casamigos tequila, Rande Gerber, also shared his adoration for his son, commenting: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength, and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”
Like his mom and sister, Presley followed in his mum’s footsteps and began modelling at age 15 in 2015. His runway debut was for Italian label Moschino; Presley went on to model for brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta.
In 2024, the late model first opened up about his substance abuse by recalling a near-fatal fentanyl overdose. Shortly after, he checked into rehab to undergo treatment.

In August, his younger sister opened up about her brother’s addiction in an interview with Vogue. She explained: “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone.”
“We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world.
“And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
