Haliey Welch, otherwise known as the "Hawk Tuah girl" has made a comeback on social media after her crypto scandal.
In case you're unaware, Welch exploded to viral fame for her NSFW one-liner: “You gotta give it that hawk tuah, and spit on that thing.”
What followed was an all-out internet takeover — including a podcast backed by Jake Paul’s Betr media company, a clothing brand, and a massive following on social media.
But things took a nosedive in December when she launched her own memecoin, $HAWK — a venture that many fans say cost them everything.
Described by Welch as “a good way to interact with [her] fans,” the memecoin quickly ballooned to a staggering $490 million market cap within hours of its launch, according to Crypto Times.

Within just three hours, the digital currency had tanked by over 90%, according to CoinTelegraph. Bloomberg Law later reported that the total investor losses exceeded $151,000.
Some fans were devastated.
"I am a huge fan of Hawk Tuah but you took my life savings," one person alleged. "I purchased your coin $Hawk that you were so excited about with my life savings and children’s college education fund as well.”
After months of silence, Welch finally addressed the backlash in a leaked episode of her Talk Tuah podcast, featuring FaZe Clan founder Banks. Visibly emotional, Welch defended herself.
“It’s all gonna be OK,” Banks reassured her.
Welch admitted: “And I feel really bad for all the people that got affected by it. And it just didn’t go the way I planned.”

She revealed that the project was pitched to her as a “long-term coin” that would “change the way everybody thinks about crypto.”
In a final Q&A before taking time away from social media, Welch excused herself from the conversation by staying: "Anywho, I'm gonna go to bed and I'll see you guys tomorrow."
Following this, after 'going to bed', Welch appeared to vanish off the face of the Earth... until now.
She's finally returned with a chaotic, self-aware video on March 25, captioned: “What’d I miss?”
In the clip, Welch pretends to wake from a dream as voice-overs announce her supposed death.
She falls back asleep, only to spoof another rumor — that she’s pregnant — complete with a fake baby bump and a sippy cup. She then parodies being in jail while a Joe Rogan voiceover asks: “What’s going on with that ‘Hawk Tuah’ chick? She going to jail?”
The waking up video is in reference to her abruptly ending an interview discussing the crypto scandal by saying she was going to sleep.
Internet reactions came fast and furious.
One person wrote: "I gotta admit this is a pretty legendary comeback post!"
A second added: "This might be the most important day in online history."
Some people still aren't overly keen on Welch, however.
One wrote: "The attorneys gave her the green light to post again," as a second added: "Money must have run out."
Others added: "Big come back video , mocking the public good choice," and: "Nice to see she still can laugh after scamming so many people."
