Lymphoma is a cancer that affects the body's lymphatic system, per Mayo Clinic. It is in the lymphatic system that part of the body's germ-fighting network is found.
The lymphatic system consists of the lymph nodes (lymph glands), spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow. Lymphoma can affect all these parts of the body in addition to other organs in the body.
Treatment of the disease typically involves chemotherapy, immunotherapy medications, radiation therapy, a bone marrow transplant, and in some cases a combination of these treatments.
Needless to say, a number of fans have since taken to Twitter to share their well-wishes.
One Twitter user wrote: "Oh my. Man. My prayers are with you my friend. Sending love and a big hug."

Another fan added: "Wishing you the best, Jeff. My [mom] has it. She's had it now three times over 15 years. It comes back. However, she does her short course of chemo, and then maintenance. Stand tall, stand strong. You will get through this."
