Kristen Bell says she gave an "intimidated" Russell Brand a stark warning on the set of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Bell, 43, and Brand, 48, worked together on the set of the hit 2008 movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall which also starred high-profile celebs like Jason Segel and Mila Kunis.
The movie centers around Segel's character flying to Hawaii in an attempt to get over his break-up with Bell's character, only to find that she is also there and is dating Brand, who portrays Aldous Snow.
Those who have seen the movie, will know that Bell and Brand had to film some pretty intimate scenes, so the actress set down some strict ground rules before they started filming.
The revelations have resurfaced amid recent accusations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse that have been levied against Brand by four women.
These allegations, spanning from 2006 to 2013, came to light following a joint investigation by The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.
During promotional interviews for the movie in 2008, Bell didn't mince words about her encounter with Brand.
As cited by the Daily Mail, she said: "He didn't try to mess with me or get in my pants. He knew I would lop his n**s off."
In another interview, Bell described how she made it abundantly clear to Brand that she wouldn't tolerate any inappropriate behavior.
"I made it really clear from the beginning that I would sock him in the b***s if he tried anything. So he was intimidated," she said.
However, Bell later admitted that she actually enjoyed working with Brand on the film. She confessed: "I may be the only woman in the world who would shout that from the rooftops, but I did."
Reflecting on their collaboration, Brand himself praised Bell, suggesting that she would be "the perfect mate" for him. Brand quipped: "Naturally Kristen would be the perfect woman for me. And the perfect guy, that's still me."
In response to the allegations made against Brand, the Metropolitan Police has issued an official statement, as reported by the Mirror: "We are aware of media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault. At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this. If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police."
One of the accusers alleges that Brand raped her at his Los Angeles residence when she was in her 30s. Equally shocking is the accusation from another woman, referred to as "The Child," who claims that Brand groomed her for sexual activities when she was just 16 years old, while he was 30.
Jordan Martin, an ex-girlfriend of Brand's, did not provide a specific account but detailed her relationship with the comedian in a self-published book. In it, she described feeling "bullied and abused... in a mental way" during their six-month relationship, according to Sky News.
The report also highlights claims made by Helen Berger, who served as Brand's assistant between 2006 and 2007. She alleged that Brand directed her to arrange encounters with women from the audiences of the shows he hosted. Additionally, she revealed that Brand often appeared in her presence wearing only underwear and displayed signs of intense sexual addiction.
A production runner who worked on the set of Big Brother's Efourum recounted an unsettling incident in which Brand exposed himself to her and insinuated inappropriate behavior. Fearing repercussions for her job, she chose not to report the incident. Subsequently, she engaged in consensual sexual activity with Brand, who insisted on keeping it a secret.
Brand has strongly denied all the allegations that have been made against him.
