The man suing Gwyneth Paltrow has broken down in tears as he recalled the events of the 2016 skiing accident which left him injured.

The 50-year-old Shakespeare in Love star is currently in the midst of a lawsuit brought against her by Terry Sanderson - who is accusing her of allegedly wounding him on a ski slope seven years ago.

The retired 76-year-old optometrist had been vacationing at the Deer Valley resort in Utah when an "out of control" Paltrow allegedly "bolted" down the slope and slammed into him.

According to Sky News, the court filing remarks that the Iron Man actress flew down the ski slope, "knocking [Sanderson] down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries [...] Paltrow got up, turned and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow".

Watch Sanderson's testimony below:

As a result of the incident, Sanderson filed a lawsuit for $3 million. However, the judge dismissed his initial request so he is now seeking $300,000 in legal damages, as reported by Metro.

Meanwhile, the GOOP founder has denied any wrongdoing and is countersuing Sanderson for a measly $1 - plus compensation for her legal fees - and contended that the event was "categorically" his fault.

On Monday (March 27), Sanderson took the stand for the first time and described the moment of impact at Deer Valley Resort, saying: "It takes my breath away - this is hard, I don't like going through this scene.

"I just remember everything was great and then I heard something I've never heard at a ski resort - a blood-curdling scream and then - boom - and it was like somebody was out of control, hit a tree, and was going to die, and that's what I heard until I was hit," he explained.

Sanderson shared further details of his account, telling the courtroom that the ski collision had an impact on his life - including his daughters and the end of his relationship.

Being overcome with emotion, he tearfully stated: "I know she [his former partner] didn't buy into this, didn't buy into me not being the same person and coming into our relationship. And I said I'm not sure I'm going to get back to normal again."

According to The Guardian, Craig Ramon - the only eyewitness of the wreck - testified earlier that he heard a piercing cry and witnessed the Iron Man actress hit the optometrist, which caused his skis to glide up into the air before he plunged down.

Ramon's interpretation of the incident is a contrast from Paltrow's as she stated during her testimony that, for a brief moment, she thought that she was being sexually assaulted during the ski crash as she felt Sanderson slam into the back of her.

She spoke about how she "froze" as she says his set of skis suddenly "forced my legs apart," adding: "There was a body pressing against me and there was a very strange, grunting noise.

"My brain was trying to make sense of what was happening. I thought, is this a practical joke? Is someone doing something perverted? This is very strange," the Oscar winner added.
