Social media users have reacted to Gwyneth Paltrow's bizarre testimony from her ongoing ski accident trial.

As previously reported, the 50-year-old Iron Man actress is currently in the middle of a lawsuit brought against her by a man who is blaming her for allegedly injuring him on a ski slope in 2016.

Terry Sanderson - a retired 76-year-old optometrist - had been vacationing at the Deer Valley resort in Utah when an allegedly "out of control" Paltrow "bolted" down the slope and crashed into him.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by Sky News, the GOOP founder flew down the ski slope, "knocking [Sanderson] down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries [...] Paltrow got up, turned and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow".

Watch Paltrow's testimony below:

Sanderson initially filed a lawsuit for $3 million but is now seeking $300,000 after his original request was overlooked by a judge, as reported by Metro.

Paltrow has denied any wrongdoing and is countersuing Sanderson for $1, claiming that the incident was "categorically" his fault.

On Friday (March 24), the Shakespeare in Love actress took the stand to testify in the civil case. During her testimony, she was asked about the "losses" she had suffered from the ski collision.

When questioned about her comments that Sanderson had "deterred [Paltrow] from enjoying the rest of what was a very expensive vacation", the actor dryly responded with: "Well... we lost half a day of skiing."

Since then, the actress has been the subject of hilarious reactions to the statement.

One user wrote: "This is hilarious in an absurd way."

Another said: "Texting all my friends 'well … I lost half a day of skiing' next time any minor inconvenience befalls me."

A third commented: "Gwyneth didn't get an Oscar for Shakespeare In Love, she got it for 'well, I lost half a day of skiing'."

A fourth user hilariously remarked: "I need to find a way of making 'well, I lost half a day of skiing' into a Halloween costume this year."

Actress Busy Philipps - who starred in White Chicks - also joined in the fun by posting a selfie of herself and Jen Tullocon posing with cocktails on Instagram. She captioned the picture with the now-infamous line: "Well, we lost a half day of skiing."

Paltrow is claiming that Sanderson was the one who crashed into her and is countersuing for just $1 and for her legal fees to be covered. Her legal team has also sought to blame the optometrist for trying to manipulate her fame and wealth.

In court on Friday, the Shallow Hal star testified that, for a brief moment, she thought that she was being sexually assaulted during the ski crash as she felt Sanderson crash into the back of her.

She spoke about how she "froze" as she says his set of skis abruptly "forced my legs apart," adding: "There was a body pressing against me and there was a very strange, grunting noise."

"My brain was trying to make sense of what was happening. I thought, is this a practical joke? Is someone doing something perverted? This is very strange," the Oscar winner added.

Paltrow said she was not in any way accusing the man of sexual assault but had just been "trying to reconcile what was happening" at that moment.

Sanderson is expected to take the stand in the case on Monday (March 27) morning before his attorney rests the case, according to The Independent.
