Social media star Trisha Paytas has once again sparked a wave of online reaction after announcing the name of her third child.

The YouTube personality, 37, who is known for her bold online presence and unconventional choices, welcomed her son with husband Moses Hacmon and shared the baby’s name on her podcast Just Trish.

And while fans may have expected something unique after the birth of daughters Malibu Barbie and Elvis, this latest name still managed to catch the internet off guard.

Enter her third child, a son named Aquaman; as in the comic book superhero who is half-human, half-Atlantean and rules the underwater kingdom of Atlantis.

Since the announcement, social media has been flooded with reactions ranging from amused disbelief to genuine concern.

“These will be real humans with jobs. Imagine your thoracic surgeon is called Aquaman,” one TikTok user commented. Another chimed in: “This doesn’t feel real.”

One person, named Ariel, weighed in with personal insight: “Coming from someone who is named after a Disney character, why do people name their kids after fictional characters?”

Others were more critical. “It’s horrible,” wrote one user. “Celebrities forget these babies grow up and have to live with these names.” Another added: “I love Trisssssh, but Aquaman is killing me respectfully.”

“The world is collectively shocked,” someone else remarked, while another said bluntly: “I feel like that should be illegal.”

Paytas, who rose to online fame in the mid-2000s and now has over 12 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, defended the name on her podcast.

Wearing an Aquaman T-shirt, she explained the deeply personal meaning behind the choice.

“Not only is it so related to me, but it’s also so related to Moses,” she said, referencing her husband’s well-documented love of water. “I’ve been wearing Aquaman shirts for years, I’ve gone to so many Comic-Cons for Aquaman. We rewatched all the Aquaman movies, I even watched the cartoons.”

Paytas previously hinted at the name on her podcast, revealing that she and Moses wanted a “water-themed” name for their son, and that they were drawing inspiration from movies.

This isn’t the first time the couple’s baby name decisions have stirred public debate. When their first daughter, Malibu Barbie, was born in 2022, social media exploded with opinions.

“Leave it to Trish to give her a horrible name. She’s a baby, not a doll,” one critic tweeted.

Another added: “Malibu Barbie. That’s a bold choice. Glad mum and baby are healthy, but wow, that name.”

Still, not all reactions have been negative. Some fans praised Paytas for her fearless naming style, calling the choices “iconic” and “on brand.”

Whether you love it or hate it, one thing’s for sure, Trisha Paytas knows how to keep the internet talking.
