Fans got a little more than they bargained for when author and talk-show host Hoda Kotb recently made a bold revelation about her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager.
On last week's episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, 58-year-old Kotb told a live audience (and the rest of the world) that she recently learned something new about the former first daughter - that she enjoys going commando right before filming!
"She [Bush Hager] always looks put together," Kotb said before going on to reveal that she had a "little shock this morning."
"You promised me you wouldn't do this," Bush Hager can be heard protesting. "There's a lot of people here... [but] go ahead!"
"I was a little surprised because Jen and I know a lot about each other," Kotb continued, explaining that the two friends had to get changed before the show when she noticed that the 40-year-old wasn't wearing any underwear - much to the amusement of the audience members.
"I just had a little shock with it," she admitted.
Despite Bush Hager being embarrassed about the story initially, she defended her choice saying: "I think it makes a more pretty silhouette! I also think you don't have to pack as much. There's a lot of pros to it!
"I'm sure my mom has never been more proud," she jokingly added.
The two hosts then went on to discuss more pros of going commando, even getting the approval of their show's wardrobe supervisor who said "it actually does make life a lot easier."
But as for the downsides, Kotb noted that "it's a lot of washing of clothes, over and over."
Check out the clip below:"But it's also not like I'm sharing your jeans with you," the former first daughter pointed out. "Though I do steal Savannah [Guthrie]'s pants on occasion... And I do want to borrow that red suit of yours. Can I?"
"Yes, you can, anytime," Kotb said.
"I'll wear underwear," joked Bush Hager.
Today with Hoda and Jenna returned to our screens on Monday last week (November 14), after undergoing a few changes - the live audience being a big one for that particular week.
Speaking of their comeback earlier this month, Kotb said: "We miss it and we love it... This is so important to us but there's something about sitting among the people you love."
"We miss y'all. Don't you feel like everybody wants connection? I feel like people are back at church, people are back together, people are going to concerts and shows," Bush Hager also added.
The first episode of the series saw a star-studded line-up with the likes of former FLOTUS Michelle Obama, as well as Jessica Biel, Kelly Rowland, and Lauren Graham.
Today with Hoda and Jenna airs weekdays on NBC.

Jenna Bush Hager's eldest daughter had some secrets to spill about her mom on a recent episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna.
On Tuesday, Margaret "Mila" Bush, Hager Bush's nine-year-old daughter made an appearance on the popular daytime TV show alongside the two hosts.
After spending some time discussing the family's new pet cat, the topic moved to Kotb's favorite thing about Hager Bush.
"You know when I love her the most, Mila?" Asked the 58-year-old co-host. "[It's] when she's laughing so hard she can't catch her breath."
"Yeah, one time she was laughing in our living room and she peed her pants!" Mila added, telling her mom: "You changed your pajamas!"
"Thank you, Mila," Bush Hager replied, clearly a little embarrassed. "Thank you so much."
After Kotb's attempts to get Mila to expose a few more hilarious stories about her mom, Bush Hager tried to shut down the conversation.
However, the nine-year-old wasn't done yet as she confirmed one more rumor that had been circulating for a little while now... That the former first daughter enjoys going commando!
"She never wears underwear! Mila exclaimed. "She is not wearing it right now! I saw her change!"
"OK, goodbye! Goodbye, I love you!" Bush Hager quickly interjected as her daughter finally left the stage.
The two hosts shared a laugh about the silly story before Hager Bush joked about her daughter loving to drop "truth bombs."
Watch the hilarious moment below:Now this isn't the first time Bush Hager's behind-the-scenes antics have been publicized.

Actress and comedian Amy Schumer recently gave birth to her first child, a son named Gene Attell. And, ever one to keep it real, she shared a picture of herself five weeks later still wearing hospital underwear.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BydW9_UJNb3/]]
As you can tell, they look comfortable - and comfort is of the utmost importance when you've just birthed a human.
The 38-year-old captioned the pictures above: "5 weeks. Hospital underwear for life!"
She was then praised by other moms for her laid back approach to parenting and not trying to act like postpartum life is a walk in the park (if Kylie Jenner's Instagram feed was anything to go by, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was!).
This isn't the first time that the comedian has been using humor to embrace the changes her body has gone through during pregnancy. She also did this photoshoot, embracing her pregnant body in all its "imperfect" glory.

However, the internet being the internet, Schumer's keeping it real approach was not met favorably by everyone:
Luckily, she doesn't care what the haters think, and this is the brilliant response she posted to those who criticized her for wearing hospital underwear five weeks postpartum:

Now that's what I call rocking a c-section scar.
You go, Mamma!

Jenna Bush Hager has revealed that her boyfriend in the seventh grade broke up with her after catching a glimpse of her in a bathing suit.
Before the 41-year-old journalist - who is the twin daughter of the 43rd U.S. President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush - found love with now-husband Henry Hager, she dealt with her share of dating problems.
The mom-of-three shared during a three-minute confessional on Wednesday’s (April 12) broadcast of the Today show that she experienced quite a difficult breakup in school.
The co-hosts began their discussion by showing a now-viral video Ariana Grande posted on TikTok of her addressing concerns about her body.

"The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body," Grande explained in the video. "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly."
The 'No Tears Left To Cry' vocalist - who is currently filming the Wicked movie - elaborated: "[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy."
Watch Bush Hager on Today with Hoda & Jenna below:Upon seeing the Grammy-nominated singer's video, Bush Hager shared her own experience with body shaming and said: "It’s so interesting because people really do hit you right where it hurts."
"I had a boyfriend in seventh grade who broke up with me after we went swimming together after he saw me in a bathing suit," she divulged.
The former first daughter went on to explain the dangers of body shaming and the long-term impact it can have on one’s mindset. She then admitted that she sometimes struggles to feel at peace with her body, years after the incident.
"I feel like even sometimes now when I feel great - I have three kids, three C-sections, I feel really in my body and I think of it as a beautiful thing - I’ll walk in a pool and have a moment."
The author's break-up was so intense that it affected her approach to parenting. She then stated that she mostly raises her kids to be "loving" to others.
"All we want is loving children. We don’t need the star kid, the this, the that. We want kids that are kind," she said. "The way you do that is model it."
The mother shares daughters Mila, nine, and Poppy, seven, and son Hal, three, with businessman Henry Hager.

Supermodel and TV personality Tyra Banks surprised viewers with a candid (and unconventional) confession during her appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends this week.
During her guest co-hosting stint alongside Jenna Bush Hager, Banks opened up about her personal quirks, family life, and what makes her feel most connected to others.
Known for her openness and humor, she leaned into the lighthearted atmosphere of the show, trading stories with Bush Hager about habits at home and the things people don’t usually share on camera.
Then, Banks revealed one of her most unexpected tendencies: a fascination with pimple popping and cleaning other people’s feet – a habit she described as both “disgusting and erotic.”
“I like to pick,” the 51-year-old former America’s Next Top Model host admitted during her conversation with Jenna Bush Hager. “I like the toe, and if it has some stuff in it, I don’t mind digging it out.”
Banks emphasized that she takes hygiene seriously when indulging in her peculiar pastime. “I have a kit. You have to have a kit; some alcohol, you know, some stuff!”
When asked who she tends to target with her grooming rituals, Banks said her loved ones are often the recipients. “Anyone that wants it; my mom, my friends, my man, my son,” she said, referring to her longtime partner, Canadian businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin. “And a pimple? If you had a pimple, I would be staring at you.”
Banks described the habit as a form of release. “It’s disgusting and erotic at the same time,” she joked. “It touches those parts of me.”
However, she noted that her grooming interests do have boundaries. “Nether regions - I’m not picking up in those,” she clarified. “If somebody’s like, ‘Can you check this?’ I’m like, ‘No, that’s where I draw the line.’ Chest up and knees down? It’s on. Outside of that, I’m out.”
The model also explained that her toe-focused obsession can be especially intense. “The toenail because there’s stuff in there. The jam. The toe jam is up in the nail, and then you pick, and sometimes it’s different colors; brown, green,” she explained, much to Bush Hager’s amusement and slight disgust.
Banks has been dating Bélanger-Martin since 2018. In late 2019, it was reported that the couple had taken a major step in their relationship by moving in together.
“Tyra and Louis live together, but Louis travels frequently for business,” a source previously told Page Six, noting that the businessman splits his time between homes in England, Barbados, and Magog, Quebec. “Tyra’s child has his own room at Louis and his ex-wife’s house in Magog, and she’s even moved some of her belongings there; clothes, jewelry, and more.”
Despite her glamorous lifestyle, Banks continues to show she’s unafraid to embrace her quirks, even the unexpected ones!

Martha Stewart has been praised for opening up about the way she keeps herself comfortable - and let's just say a lot of other people can totally relate to it.
At 82, Martha Stewart is living her best life, showing us all that age truly is nothing but a number.
The star has been getting candid about what keeps her feeling so young, despite almost gracing this planet for an entire century.
From shifting her entire mindset about the concept of aging to working alongside professionals to understand her skin better, the business mogul has worked hard to remain so youthful.
Speaking previously to PEOPLE Magazine after her appearing as a cover star for Sports Illustrated, Stewart said that she doubled up her usual skincare and wellness routines to ensure she was feeling her best in front of the camera.
"I did Pilates three, maybe four times a week and did not have a drink — no alcohol whatsoever for two months," she shared, adding that she continued getting regular facials and was very careful about what she put in and on her body.
"I also got a spray tan a couple days before the shoot, which isn't something I usually do," Stewart revealed. "It's nice when you're down in that azure water. I got a light tan, and it was very pretty, very natural. I'm very pleased with the pictures, I really am."
Despite working hard to look the way she did, some people accused her of going under the knife - a rumor that she denies wholeheartedly.
"It's not true. I've had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever," she told Variety. "I have very healthy, good hair. I drink green juice every day. I take my vitamins. I eat very healthfully. I have very good skin doctors. I'm very careful in the sun. I wear hats and I wear sunblock every single day.
"I had my regular facials but maybe more frequently and I also got a spray tan. And I'm not a hairy person, but I got a complete body wax," she added.
In a more recent interview on her eponymous podcast with her cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Dan Belkin, she also explained that she focuses on maintaining her appearance by utilizing "minimally invasive things" such as "biostimulatory fillers" and skin tightening laser procedures after Botox did "not [go] well."
"I don't think a lot about age, but I don’t want to look my age," Stewart stated before adding: "I have a nice neck for my age. And a nice jawline. My jaw looks good."
She then went on to commend her doctor for her "artistry."
"If you can’t look at me and see that one little thing is more crooked on one side than the other side, then I don’t wanna work with you," Stewart said. "I have a very strict artistic eye. I can see defects and I want my doctor to see the defects."
While looking youthful might be important to the star, she emphasized how feeling youthful is more important, and for Stewart this means swapping her underwear for a swimsuit - just in case she feels like going for a dip at any point.
Speaking to Page Six in a new interview, the lifestyle guru opened up about the unique choice.
"I like bathing suits. I like wearing bathing suits under my clothes just in case I want to go swimming," she told the outlet at the Old Bags Luncheon in Palm Beach, Florida.
"Bathing suits are my underwear," she continued. "I don’t wear any of that structured stuff. No tight lace, no SKIMS for Martha. But I love SKIMS - I think they serve a very good purpose! But I don’t wear those. I only wear Aerie bathing suits under my clothes."
After the confession, fans couldn't help but commend Stewart for always being so open with them.
"Go girl you're awesome!!" wrote one user while another added: "I freaking love this for her."
"Whatever works, Martha!" a third stated.
Others also agreed that it was the best way to go.
"Summertime I wear swimsuits as well. It’s simply more comfortable when you sweat," this user admitted.
And this person agreed writing: "Bathing suits often give more compression and support. I do the same often."
Would you do this?
